Spoiler Warning!!! This guide contains late-game and New Game Plus story spoilers.

The world of Starfield is filled with countless varieties of resources, many of which will be required for crafting at some point in the game. And while some of these resources can be found in abundance throughout the Settled Systems, there are a surprisingly large number that will require the player to devote considerable effort to find. Caelumite, a rare mineral associated with Starfield's artifacts, is a prime example.

Players will find Caelumite lining the walls of the same caves that contain the Artifacts, though usually in very limited amounts. When players begin to reach the higher levels Starfield's Research and Crafting mechanics, they will discover that the amount of Caelumite needed will require a much more reliable source if they want to complete the projects in a timely manner. This guide will show players how to find exactly that.

Where To Find Caelumite in Starfield

Story spoilers are contained in this section.

As previously mentioned, this rare mineral can be found near the Artifacts players will find in caves throughout Starfield. However, this is not the only place it is located. It seems that Caelumite has a strong connection to the very origins of the Artifacts, and the temples that they lead to. As players make their way through the game, they will learn that each Artifact has a corresponding temple, and these temples grant players a single power each.

Players will notice that every planet that has a temple will also feature multiple anomalies. It is at these locations that players will find an abundance of Caelumite. These points of interest are known as Gravitational Anomalies, and they can be found several times on Temple planets. With Starfield' s hand scanner active, simply walk around each site to find several veins of Caelumite.

Make sure to really search around each block and ruin, as the Caelumite veins can be well-hidden. This is where certain powers can be extremely helpful.

The Elemental Pull power will allow the player to mine several veins on Caelumite at once. Powers and temples are not always tied to the same planet, so players will have to make their way through "Power from Beyond" to acquire it.

How to Find More Temple Planets and Anomalies

Starfield-The-Eye-Watches

There are two methods to find more anomalies in the Settled Systems, depending on where a player is in the game. They are as follows:

  • Complete the "Power From Beyond" quest line from Vladimir at the Eye.
  • Use the 'Completed' section in the mission menu to track as many 'Power From Beyond' missions as possible.

Both of these options can work in tangent, again, depending on where a player is in the game. Players will likely not need more than one or two planets worth of Caelumite to craft everything that features it as a component, so there is no need to worry about finding more than that. Simply visit one of the planets where a power was gained, use the scanner to find as many anomalies as possible, and strip them clean.

It may be worth keeping track of any planets that Vlad sends the player to, in case more Caelumite is needed. But it's also important to note that Starfield's New Game Plus wipes the slate clean in terms of which planets the temples are on. This will usually not be an issue for players wishing to find more Caelumite on subsequent playthroughs, as Vladimir will pick up "Power From Beyond" right where it was at in a previous game.

These methods should provide the players with more than enough Caelumite to make it through any crafting or research project.

Starfield is available now on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
