Some Starfield fans believe that Bethesda may have cut Trident ships out of the game at the last minute. Starfield had fewer bugs than any other Bethesda game at launch, but this does not mean that the version that saw the light of day was everything the developers were planning, and these players believe they have evidence of that.

Starfield was launched back in September. Despite being available as part of Game Pass, Starfield is still selling very well and can be considered a big success. Part of why it's so successful is due to how sprawling and full of secrets Starfield s, as some players are still coming up with new discoveries and theories about the finer details of the world.

Now, a gamer called Bamboozleprime started an interesting theory: that Bethesda cut the Trident brand of ships at the last minute. According to Bamboozleprime, it’s possible to visit the Trident Star Yard in Starfield and the salesman will talk about Trident ships. The people there will explain that these are very expensive, luxury ships, and even talk about how they compare to other brands such as Deimos. However, this little world-building dialogue falls flat as players can't actually buy these ships, and the Star Yard is only useful for a single side quest, which hints at cut content, in Bamboozleprime’s opinion.

This theory became pretty popular, as Bamboozleprime’s post gained over 1,800 upvotes on r/Starfield. In the comments of the post, some gamers pointed out that there is, in fact, a Trident ship in the game, but it’s not obtainable. Some Redditors speculated that maybe Trident ships could be available in future DLC. As Starfield has multiple DLC expansions on the way, that’s not a very far-fetched idea, but it’s impossible to know before an official announcement.

While some players may be wondering why they can't purchase Trident ships, Starfield has a comprehensive ship-building system, so gamers can at least build something that looks similar. Others, however, may use this system to create wacky ship builds. One player recently created a Starfield ship that looks like a vacuum cleaner, which looks unique, but not very well suited for combat due to its lack of firepower. Others have also devised some very funny creations inspired by Pokemon, Power Rangers, snakes, hot dogs, and the even Empire State Building.

Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
