Upon discovering some information about Maya Cruz, players return to Akila City in Starfield to figure out the next step. Since Maya was diagnosed with a terminal illness and went to get treated, the only plausible option is the Clinic. It’s a huge medical facility that protects its patients' private information, making it the perfect place for Maya to hide.
It’s crucial that players find Maya’s location in Starfield since it will lead to essential proof that can only be found with her.
Surgical Strike Walkthrough In Starfield
To reach the Clinic in Starfield, travel to the Narion System and Grav Jump to Deepala to find the huge Ship orbiting around the Planet. Walk past the reception where doctors are arguing and speak with Ranger Ben Armistead, who introduces players to Ari Miller.
After explaining the situation to Ari Miller, he guides players to a computer where he goes through patients' databases to find some unusual issues. After Ari reveals the names of the two suspects, Jane Nakamori and Candace Doolin, players should head to the patients’ rooms to find more information.
The first one, Jane Nakamori, is a bit difficult to talk to and requires some persuasion in Starfield to tell the truth. After uncovering her criminal records, players can either receive some Credits as bribery or report Jane to the Ranger. Since it’s obvious that Jane is not Maya Cruz, go to the next room and speak with Candace only to come out with a disappointing result.
Eventually, speak with Ari again who reveals that there’s another suspect who goes by the name Catalina Rivera and is currently found in the VIP section. Players now have to speak with Dr. Cassidy to gain access to the VIP section of the Clinic.
However, if players possess the Security Trait in Starfield, it’s possible to skip the questioning and complete a hidden objective, which is much faster than the previous one.
Approach the Freestar Rangers Terminal Computer and search for Admin Access, Active Processes, and Query: Disruptor Mk4. This reveals the name Catalina Rivera much faster and people can immediately speak with Dr. Cassidy to enter the VIP section.
How To Get Inside The VIP Section In Starfield
The only way to get access to the VIP section in Starfield is by talking with Dr. Cassidy. There are many methods players can follow to get the required Keycard:

Upon gaining access to the VIP Section, Catalina’s room is empty and full of traps. Grab the Urgent - Read Immediately Slate to progress in the Surgical Strike Quest. It turns out that Maya has retreated to an old Abandoned Asteroids Mine in another Star System.
Where To Find Maya Cruz Inside The Asteroid Mine In Starfield
Head to the Sakharov System and dock on the Eklund Site CL25. Upon landing, open the locked doors by pressing the buttons then follow the Quest marker in Starfield to an Emergency Cuttable Wall. Use the Cutter to remove it and proceed ahead.
Defeat the Shardhoppers surrounding the area and head to the locked door. A red cord can be seen hanging out, which can be followed to a locked computer. Use a Digipick in Starfield to solve the Novice lock and open the door.
The next area is a bit confusing as there’s no path connected to the other side. Simply climb one of the crystals the use the rest to cross over. Follow the Quest marker until an elevator appears. Use it to reach the bottom floor where there are tons of enemies.
Try to take out the annoying Mining Turrets first as they cause heavy damage and have a wide range to shoot. After the battle is over, head to another Emergency Cuttable Wall and use the Cutter to get through.
On the other side of the wall is Maya Cruz in the flesh. Fight her and knock her down to trigger a chat. Here, there are two options; kill Maya or let her go. Both options lead to the same result.
Maya is already suffering from an illness and doesn’t have much to live, so if spared, she gives players an encrypted Slate and tells them to decode it. Killing her allows players to search her body for the Slate.
Return to Akila City and give the Slate to Alex Shadid so he can uncover its mysteries. Finally, the Surgical Strike Side Quest is complete.
Starfield is available now on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
