The UC Vanguard is one of the first factions players can join in Starfield, and the group offers several missions that reward with XP, Credits, and United Colonies citizenship. The first mission, Supra Et Ultra, has players taking a brief history lesson and a ship combat test.
Starfield players will first encounter the UC Vanguard early in the game during The Old Neighborhood main mission, though players do not have to join at that moment and can return anytime to enlist if they are interested in doing so.
Starfield: Search and Seizure Walkthrough
Here is how to complete the Starfield mission Search and Seizure to keep the spaceport safe from smugglers and earn some money.
Supra Et Ultra Walkthrough
Players can start the Supra Et Ultra mission by visiting the MAST Building in New Atlantis on planet Jemison in the Alpha Centauri System. It is surrounded by water near the Lodge, and above the train station in the MAST District.
Talk to Commander Tuala at the side desk to accept his offer, and he will lead you to the elevator to go to the Orientation Hall. The hall has several computers to finish your Enlistment Agreement, which requires scrolling through pages and selecting Agree to complete it.
The next room in the Orientation Hall will feature several exhibits explaining the history of the time before Starfield alongside information about other factions. Players can listen to all the exhibits or simply pass them all by to get to the elevator, which will take you to the Piloting Simulator.
The exam room contains two simulator pods and a break room that contains the Vanguard Space Tactics Skill Magazine, which permanently increases ship missile damage by 5%. Speak to Exam Proctor Samuelson to know more about the exam.
The exam will have players fight waves of enemies is simulated space battles. The test contains six tiers to complete, though players only need to finish three tiers to move on. Players can retry the test as many times as they like, and only the highest score will be kept.
Enter the simulation pod and sit at the cockpit to begin the test. The first tier will have a single enemy ship. Be aggressive and fire both lasers and missiles to make quick work of it. The second tier will have two slightly weaker ships, and the third tier consists of two powerful ships.
Once finished, leave the cockpit and exit the pod. Take the elevator to MAST Lobby and speak to Commander Tuala. He will go over your exam and tell you how many years it will take to reach UC Citizenship. The number does not matter considering what will happen in future UC Vanguard missions.
Commander Tuala will then recruit you to the faction, give you at least 7,000 Credits, and send you to Crew Chief Hearth at the spaceport for your next assignment. You will also receive 250 XP for completing Supra Et Ultra.
Completing The Last Three Tiers
While finishing the last three tiers of the Piloting Simulator are optional, you will receive up to 20,000 Credits from Commander Tuala for completing them. However, the extra waves can be difficult depending on what skills and ship upgrades are unlocked for your character.
There is also a Simulation Controls panel inside the Piloting Simulator pod that will upgrade the simulation ship's shields and damage, or give you an ally ship to help you. These Debug Tools only last for one tier, but players with one point in the Security Skill can access the Authorized Users Only option. This will enable players to transfer upgrades between tiers and spawn a more powerful allied ship.
The Debug Tools can greatly help with the one level 44 ship in Tier four, but will certainly be required for the fifth and sixth tiers. Tier five pits you against four ship all above level 40, while Tier six contains five ships at different levels all at one time.
Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
