The Star Eagle is a Class-A starship owned by Freestar Rangers. In Starfield, players have the opportunity to obtain this spacecraft by completing a faction quest located on the planet Akila.
However, it often puzzles Starfield enthusiasts as the Star Eagle ship appears to be unavailable for purchase from vendors. This guide aims to provide a clear explanation for unlocking the Star Eagle early in the game, completely free of charge.
Starfield: Mantis Quest Walkthrough (Puzzle Solution, Razorleaf Ship, Mantis Suit)
A free Legendary armor and battleship await Starfield players in a secret hideout on a deserted planet, but first, they must solve the Mantis letter.
How to Get the Star Eagle
To get the Star Eagle, players will need to become a Freestar Ranger. To do so, they need to complete the entire Freestar Collective Faction questline, consisting of eight missions: Job Gone Wrong, Deputized, Where Hope Is Built, Shadows in Neon, Surgical Strike, On the Run, First to Fight, First to Die, and The Hammer Falls.
As soon as players become a Freestar Ranger, the sheriff will reward them with a free Star Eagle starship exempted from registration fees. The vessel will be added to the inventory, and players will be able to make it their home ship by talking to a Ship Services Technician.
The best thing about the Star Eagle is that it comes with EM Weapons, a non-lethal weaponry class that disables attacking ships’ system without destroying them.

Best Upgrades for the Star Eagle
Since the Star Eagle lacks proper Contraband storage, players should get it a Shielded Cargo as soon as possible. Other than that, the ship will also benefit from Scan Jammers, PB-50 Proton Beam weapons, 40T Hauler Cargo Hold, and Deimos Habs.
Is the Star Eagle Worth It
Given its classification as a free Class-A ship, the Star Eagle stands out as one of the finest early-game vessels in Starfield. Players can enjoy its impressive speed, firepower, and cargo capacity without having to spend a single Credit.
However, it's important to note that the Star Eagle does have a drawback—it tends to attract the attention of space pirates and hostile factions, leading to frequent attacks on the player.
Starfield is available now for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
