Players get to play space cop in Starfield through the UC Vanguard missions, but some of the quests are more mundane than apprehending criminals and spaceship dogfights. The Search and Seizure mission has players checking records and inspecting cargo.

This Starfield mission can be unlocked after completing the Eyewitness and A Break At Dawn missions after joining the UC Vanguard on New Atlantis. It is a fairly straightforward mission that could provide extra benefits depending on players' choice.

Search and Seizure Walkthrough

The Search and Seizure mission can be received by talking to Sergeant Yumi at the UC Security Office in New Atlantis, near the spaceport. He will tell you that there are potential smugglers coming in and out of the spaceport and sends you to talk to the port workers.

Go outside, and two port workers will be nearby, marked on the HUD. One will have nothing to say, while the other says that the crew of cargo ship UC-576B has been suspicious. Unfortunately, the worker does not remember the ship's name, and you will have to get the name from Aegis.

Take the transport car to MAST District, then take the elevator to the left to the Defense Research/Health and Human Services/Aegis floor. Speak to Agent Plato to receive the Potential Smuggler Ships slate.

Read the slate from either the New or Notes categories in the inventory to find the name of the ship is the Anansi. Travel back to Sergeant Yumi and tell him that exact name from the list of ships he asks, since giving another ship name will end the quest early. He will then tell you to seize the contraband cargo from the ship.

The Anansi ship will be docked outside at the spaceport, so board it and climb the ladder inside to get to the ship's cargo hold. Taking the contraband will cause Captain Ndiaye to offer a deal of 2,500 to lie about it and let them go.

Players can take the deal and walk off the ship in peace or take the contraband and fight the few Anansi crew members. The latter will allow players to loot the ship further. Return to Sergeant Yumi and hand over the contraband to receive at least 3,300 Credits, though it is dependent on level.

Players can also lie and keep the contraband but still receive the quest reward. However, they will need to safely hide and sell contraband to make carrying it around worth it.

Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
