In Starfield, invisibility is a form of disguise for sneak attacks and stealing. Characters who possess invisibility can seamlessly blend into their surroundings, thanks to the perks of their spacesuits or their supernatural abilities.
Despite being a subtly hidden feature in the game, invisibility can be acquired through three distinct methods: looting, purchasing, or unlocking. This guide aims to assist stealthy Starfield players in obtaining the coveted camouflage effect for their apparel and spacesuits, all while avoiding exorbitant expenses.
How to Become Invisible
To achieve invisibility, players must reach Rank 3 in the Concealment Skill. Furthermore, temporary invisibility can be obtained by wearing Chameleon spacesuits or utilizing the Void Form power. Note that none of these methods grants permanent invisibility. However, the Void Form does allow players to remain indistinguishable for up to 20 seconds.
Wear Gears with the Chameleon Effect
The Chameleon attribute allows players to become invisible when they crouch. By equipping any spacesuit component (such as a helmet, body, or pack) with this perk, players will automatically camouflage themselves as long as they’re motionless and crouching.
Legendary spacesuits like The Mirrored Mantis Armor are likelier to have the Chameleon perk.
Rank Up the Concealment Skill
To achieve guaranteed invisibility, players must unlock the Concealment Skill. When this attribute reaches Rank 3, it gives the Chameleon effect to any spacesuit, effectively hiding players in plain sight.
Since Concealment is a Tier-4 (Master) skill, players need to spend at least 12 Skill Points in the Physical tree to unlock it.
Unlock the Void Form Power
The Void Form is an advanced ability that allows players to tap into the darkness of space, making themselves almost invisible to others. To unlock this skill, players must complete the Power From Beyond questline, often by visiting the Temple Omicron.
Performing any action while in the Void Form will cancel the invisibility effect. However, unlike the Chameleon attribute, this Power allows players to freely move around and interact with NPCs and objects without being detected.
How to Make Companions Invisible
To assist them in becoming invisible, players should equip companions with a Chameleon suit. To do this, they need to trade the desired item with their companions and then press the "Equip" button in their respective inventories. This will enable allies to camouflage themselves as soon as the player crouches.
