During the First To Fight, First To Die Side Quest, players will finally find out the identity of the one targeting the farmers in Starfield. Thanks to Alex Shadid’s effort in decoding the three encrypted Slates obtained from previous missions, the Marshal sends the players on an important mission to explore an old factory.
There will be long and hard battles while completing First To Fight, First To Die Side Quest in Starfield, so make sure to wear the correct gear as well as purchase extra Ammo and Med Packs.
First To Fight, First To Die Walkthrough In Starfield
Head to the Meeting Room to trigger a conversation with Marshal Daniel Blake and Ranger Emma Wilcox in Starfield. Both are anxious since there’s no lead after all the missions players have completed. The Marshal and Emma then begin to evaluate the players' performance on the previous Side Quests.
Eventually, Alex Shadid returns with the Slates and reveals that they all lead to a place called The Factory. Marshall Daniel suggests visiting an old abandoned mech factory on Arcturus II to find some clues.
Make sure to visit the General Store in Akila City to stock up on some Ship Repair Parts, Ammo, and Med Packs.
Upon traveling to the Arcturus System, approach the Arcturus II Planet only to be ambushed by a group called The First Thresher. There will be three waves in total and each one will spawn two enemy Ships in Starfield. Defeat them and land on the planet to explore the abandoned mech factory.
Investigate The Freestar Mech Factory In Starfield
Upon landing, proceed to the factory where Paxton Hull will speak with players occasionally once they are inside the building. Defeat the first few enemies inside and head towards the orange door.
Follow the Quest marker and defeat enemies along the way until people reach a large area filled with enemies and turrets in every corner. Defeat them without falling into the lava and follow the marker to the Assembly orange door.
On the other side, head down the slope and enter through the cave entrance to the right. Kill the enemies and loot the corpses to get extra Ammo.
If by any chance players are low on Ammo and Medicine, they are welcome to explore the available Bypass doors.
When fighting the mercenaries, try to stay on high ground to evade any ambush attacks and locate all enemies easily. Eventually, players will reach a large area where more challenging mercenaries are waiting.
Defeat the huge wave of enemies and proceed towards the Operations orange door to proceed. On the other side of the door, Paxton’s last wave of mercenaries will be there and must be defeated alongside their boss to complete the mission. Players can’t simply ignore them and head to Paxton immediately as killing the mercenaries is considered part of the Quest.
After taking care of the enemies, head to Paxton and shoot him down. He will stop attacking and agree to have a conversation. Surprisingly, the President of HopeTech himself, Ron Hope, is responsible for what happened to the farmers in Akila City.
Should You Kill Paxton Hull In Starfield?
Once the conversation is done and players get all the necessary information, they will be given a choice; arrest Paxton Hull or kill him. In this case, it's not necessary to decide since both options yield the same outcome. That’s because he willingly gives the Details of the Arrangement Slate, refuses to get arrested, and then proceeds to initiate a fight.
Defeat Paxton Hull again and approach his body to loot the Elevator Exit Key. If players choose to kill him immediately, grab the Details of the Arrangement Slate from his corpse as well.
Starfield is available now on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
