Summary
- Starfield offers players immense freedom in ship designs and gameplay, but gathering ship parts can be expensive. Luckily, some Ship Technicians sell cheap but good ships.
- Some Ship Technicians have exclusive ships, while others have randomized inventory. Not every vendor listed will sell the desired ship, adding an element of randomness.
- The article highlights several ships in Starfield, such as Gladius 2, Shackleton, War Horse, Rambler 2, Crimson Fleet Reaper, and Roanoke. Each ship has its own strengths and limitations in terms of weapons, speed, shield capacity, and cargo space.
Having one of the best starships is a vital component of Starfield. Players are faced with the infinite unknown of space, and if they want to traverse it, then they are going to need a ship. Starfield offers players immense freedom in terms of gameplay and ship designs, with many players building some truly incredible ships of their own. Yet, gathering parts can be expensive. Luckily, some Ship Technicians sell cheap but good ships in Starfield.
The cosmic journey never ends, and players are going to want to make sure that they have an effective ship so that they can travel the stars. The uncharted Star Systems are full of dangers, from space pirates to asteroids, so players need the best ships in Starfield that are affordable, so they can get by.
Whilst some ships are exclusive to certain Ship Technicians, others have a chance to rotate out of the inventory, adding an element of randomness. This means that not every vendor listed will sell the desired ship shown.
6 Gladius 2
Found at the Deimos Staryard from Nikau Henderson
For a low cost of 87747 Credits, players can pick up a fairly decent ship. This ship specializes in Deimos parts, which are used by the United Colonies for their military operations. Players will have a varied selection of three weapon systems, as well as a great bout of engine, laser, and missile stats. However, the Gladius 2 doesn’t have the best shields or hull defense, and there can only be 2 crew members on the ship, making it rather cramped when traveling to major locations.

5 Shackleton
- Located on New Atlantis from the Ship Technician vendor.
Whilst the Shackleton may struggle slightly in terms of its weapon capabilities, it certainly excels at its speed and shields. The Shackleton is a fast and agile ship, capable of rapid Grav Drive jumps, as well as full potential for engine speed and shield drives. However, players will only have a slot for 2 crew members, as well as limited ballistic and laser weapons, to drive off the Crimson Fleet.

4 War Horse
- Purchased from Akila City’ s Ship Technician
It seems that even though the Old West is over, those who have traveled the stars can’t let go of the majestic steads that they once rode across the new frontier. War Horse is a loving ship, which has very well-balanced capabilities in terms of its weapons, speed, and cargo capacity. However, it is once again a ship limited to 2 crew members.

3 Rambler 2
- Picked up from the New Atlantis Ship Technician
Whilst the Rambler 2 might be small, it more than makes up for it thanks to its ship system capabilities. Players can place plenty of their ship energy into its weapons and engines to be an agile machine of galactic death. However, it’s a ship that doesn’t have the best crew capacity, nor cargo, and it lacks many alternatives to its weapons, but, it is a fairly cheap ship to use, especially with its high Grav Drive potential.

2 Crimson Fleet Reaper
- Purchased from Jasmine Durand at The Key (Must be a Crimson Fleet member)
Being a Space Pirate has never seemed so exciting, and being part of the Crimson Fleet gives players unique opportunities to purchase some unique and exclusive ships in Starfield. One of those ships is the Crimson Fleet Reaper, which will give players a large cargo capacity, weapon capabilities, and Grav Drive power. Although, it only has Particle weapons, which are still great on their own.

1 Roanoke
- Purchased from Neon City’s Ship Technician
Fast and reliable, the Roanoke may be a tad more on the expensive side, but it’s still a great ship that is far cheaper than some alternatives. The Roanoke definitely benefits from its weapon capabilities, and its whopping cargo capacity, meaning players can carry an abundance of gear on their ships, but, at the cost of a lacking shield capacity.
