During an expedition on a remote planet, a Starfield player saw an active volcano in the game and shared their findings with other players on social media. The Starfield player then received feedback from their peers about the volcano, with some recounting tales of rare discoveries they made while exploring different planets.
While the environments in Starfield change with each game file, that has not stopped players from finding ways to document and improve them all. Thanks to mods that improve Starfield's environments, the possibilities are as numerous as the stars in space, but the base version of the game can also provide some shocking discoveries. Though some set pieces are found more often than others on specific planets, there is always a chance that something unexpected could appear instead. In the case of one Starfield player, they received and shared an unforgettable experience that others had not encountered themselves.
Starfield Multiplayer Mod Halts Development
Starfield Together will no longer be developed by the team behind Skyrim Together, as the author behind the project makes an important announcement.
On Reddit, a user named reddit-0-tidder documented their discovery of an active volcano on the r/Starfield subreddit. The OP stated that this volcano was discovered on a hill on the planet Marduk IV, at a place called The Lone Hill. In four screenshots, the hill was surrounded by plants and dark-colored rocks, with the glow of the lava serving as a sharp contrast to the nearby environment. The middle of the lava pool had a rock and some resilient plants still emerging from beneath, which is a testament to the random nature of planetary discoveries. Even though S tarfield players have made discoveries during different playthroughs, some of the comments in the OP's post said that they had not discovered any sort of volcanoes on Marduk IV and complimented the OP for their find.
Compared to other players' discoveries of alien hatcheries in Starfield or other unusual phenomena on uncharted planets, the discovery of a volcano may not seem as notable at first glance. According to feedback from other players, though, it's quite interesting, as normally either water or toxic sludge has a chance to appear on The Lone Hill instead of the lava that the OP saw. In addition to the discovery, the OP wondered what to name the volcano that they found on Marduk IV. In response, some Starfield players suggested "The High Ground" as a reference to Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith and an infamous line that was spoken by Obi-Wan Kenobi during the film.
Though Starfield remains divisive among gamers, it continues to set milestones even months after release. It will be interesting to see what Bethesda's plans are for Starfield heading into 2024.
