Stardew Valley is a perfect blend of farming, crafting, exploration, and community-building. While offering players a virtual escape to the countryside – the engaging gameplay makes it one of the best games for players to immerse themselves in for hours. When players are building the perfect homestead – they need money (lots of it) to buy varieties of crops and animals and to upgrade the farmhouse.
Making money in this farming simulator can be quite challenging. Players mostly just wait around for their crops to grow so that they can sell them for little profit. Just like other video games, Stardew Valley comes with its own cheats and glitches, one of them being a hack to get infinite money in the game.
How to Get Unlimited Money in Stardew Valley
This glitch is an ideal choice for players who want to get money quickly without going through the hassles of duplicating items or remembering product codes. It doesn’t require Stardew Valley mods or engines and can be done easily at any game stage. This hack is best for players who are just getting started.
Before making any big changes, players need to save their game progress and follow these instructions afterward.
- From the in-game Main Menu (also the Inventory), click on the Exit Game button (a red circle icon). Next, click Exit to Desktop.
- Once back to the Desktop, open up the File Explorer. Navigate to Local Disk (C:).
- From the menu at the top, click the View tab and select the checkbox for Hidden Items. This will show all the hidden folders on the disk.
- Open the Users folder. Navigate to “PC” > “App Data” > “Roaming” > “Stardew Valley” and find the “Saves” folder.
- Open Saves to find the folder titled as the player’s character name. For example, if the character is named “Joshua”, there will be a folder labeled “Joshua_” with a long string of numbers.
- Once the folder is opened, there will be four files. Open all folders one by one using Notepad and make changes as mentioned below.
- In the Notepad screen, hit the “Ctrl+F” keys to open the Find Text box. In the search bar, type the word “Money” and hit Find Next.
- In doing so, players will be able to find the words <money>[amount]</money> where the amount is the number of Gold players already have in the game. For example, if a player has only 500 Gold, the text would read “<money>500</money>”
- Here’s the fun part – players can edit the amount to whatever they desire. For example, the 500 can be changed to 50,000,000. Make sure to Save the Notepad file before exiting.
- Repeat these steps for the rest of the Files – namely “SaveGameInfoOld”, “[PlayerName]_[NumberString]” and “[PlayerName]_[NumberString]_Old”
- Once all the Files have been updated and saved, players can launch the game and Load the farm to see the new gold amount on their screens.
Make sure that the changed money amount is the same for all the files, or else the character will get corrupted and won’t be visible in the game.
Stardew Valley is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
