Players continue to make unexpected discoveries in Stardew Valley, such as one fan unintentionally learning that Mayor Lewis' notorious purple shorts can be used as a decorative piece in fish tanks. Despite being almost 10 years old, Stardew Valley still boasts a massively dedicated community that frequently shares a number of surprising tips and tricks like this new find.
Hailed by many as one of the best life-sim video games of all time, Stardew Valley sees players taking on the role of an upstart young farmer who must farm, fish, mine, forage, and craft their way to success on their late grandfather's old homestead. Over the years, players have found a variety of useful ways to repurpose quest items, though one particular discovery has caught the attention of both first-time and veteran players.
Stardew Valley Player Discovers Clever Decorative Use for Signs
A Stardew Valley player finds a clever use for signs many hadn't thought of, combining them with another item for a cool decorative effect.
Stardew Valley fan Uniquehorn2 accidentally placed Mayor
Lewis purple shorts in their fish tank and quickly shared the comical revelation with fellow players. For those unfamiliar, there is a very well-known quest line in Stardew Valley in which players are tasked with recovering the lost purple shorts of Mayor Lewis, which just so happen to be found in the bedroom of
Marnie. Players can choose to return the purple shorts to Lewis for a reward or can use them to embarrass him in a number of ways. However, Uniquehorn2 and others were shocked to learn that a third option exists in which players keep the purple shorts for themselves as an absurd decorative piece in a fish tank. Players simply need to have Mayor Lewis' shorts in their active item slot and then click on a fish tank to display the Pelican Town leader's underpants.

With new updates for Stardew Valley drawing in long-time fans and brand-new players, it should come as no surprise that more hidden abilities and little-known tricks are coming to light.
