Summary
- Be mindful of what movies you take Stardew Valley characters to see, as it can impact their emotions and relationships.
- Each character in the game has unique likes and dislikes, so be careful with your gift choices to avoid upsetting them.
- Despite accidental mistakes, there are always chances to rebuild relationships and progress in the game through proper actions and gifts.
A Stardew Valley player's innocent trip to the movies led to some accidental childhood trauma for one of Pelican Town's youngest residents,
Jas, as they mistakenly let her watch a scary movie. Stardew Valley has multiple "movies" available to see in its cinema that cycle out over time, and this player seemed to forget what was on the schedule.
Residents of Stardew Valley all have unique quirks and interests that determine how they will react to gifts, events, and different activities, such as going to the movies or celebrating at the town's various festivities. What some characters don't like may be another one's favorite thing, as is the very nature of the game, but seeing as Jas is only about six years old, taking her to see a horror film is not likely to end well.
That is exactly why Reddit user fyhnn took to the r/StardewValley community to share their lament toward potentially traumatizing the little girl by taking her to the cinema while "Mysterium," one of the films available in Stardew Valley, was playing. While the film itself is not all that scary to the player's eyes, showing only a dancing skeleton on the screen, it is meant to be a horror film, and the user's screenshots show Jas leaving the theater in tears after seeing it.
Stardew Valley Player Takes Jas to a Horror Movie
Another player chimed in with a similar story in which they were accidentally rude to Jas by gifting her a lump of clay for her birthday by mistake when she walked in front of them. Since Stardew Valley is a game all about building up relationships, things like this can hinder players' progress with certain characters, since they only have a limited number of opportunities to build it up each week.
A few people suggested that the player simply restart their game to reset the day, but they had apparently already progressed to the next day, and since Stardew Valley automatically saves the game at the start of each one, there is no chance of going back now. Luckily, there will still be plenty more opportunities for the player to earn Jas's friendship so long as they know the proper gifts to give her every week.
Stardew Valley has nearly endless replayability thanks to its multiple preset options for players' towns and different endings depending on who the player befriends or marries. The game still receives consistent content updates as well, and the developer, ConcernedApe, is also working on a totally new game called Haunted Chocolatier.
