Visiting the Forge in Volcano Dungeon is a must in Stardew Valley. When you reach Level 10, it will allow you to upgrade some of your weapons, enchant tools and weapons, combine rings, and change the appearance of your weapons. However, if you don't want to frequently make the trip over to Ginger Island, you now have the option to build yourself a Mini-Forge.

Being able to craft this item will take a bit of work and mastery. You'll also need to come stocked up with rare materials, such as Dragon Teeth. In this guide, we will show you how to unlock the Mini-Forge and use it for yourself.

How to Unlock the Mini-Forge in Stardew Valley

If you're looking to unlock the recipe to make a Mini-Forge, you will need to up your Mastery. This new system can be found under the Skills section in your main menu, and will require you to get a total of 10,000 Points to reach the first level. The second will require 15,000, the third 20,000, and so on.

Points can be gained either by just going about your daily tasks, such as fishing, farming, mining, and more, or you can purchase Skill Books from the Book Seller when they appear twice a month. You can check any in-game calendar to see when they will be visiting Pelican Town.

Once you've hit the required number of Mastery Points to level up, visit the Mastery Cave. You can find this in the eastern area of Cindersap Forest, shown in the first two images above. Inside, there will be five different pillars to choose from. To get the Mini-Forge, go ahead and choose the Combat Mastery Pillar on the left with the sword. Along with the Mini-Forge, you will also now have access to the Anvil recipe, and you'll be able to start picking up trinkets.

After you've made yourself a Mini-Forge, you can place it wherever you want. You can choose to have it indoors, or outdoors on your farm. Then, you'll just want to approach it to get started on forging.

The Mini-Forge acts just like the regular Forge found in Volcano Dungeon. You'll need to come prepared with Cinder Shards, and the weapon you'd like to enhance, or the rings you'd like to combine. Gemstones will also be required to provide upgrades, which include:

  • Amethyst: Adds knockback
  • Aquamarine: Adds critical hit chance
  • Emerald: Adds weapon speed
  • Jade: Adds critical hit damage
  • Ruby: Adds damage
  • Topaz: Adds defense
