- Discovering the Bobber Machine allows players to change bobber styles, with an option for randomization.

- The laid-back nature of Stardew Valley allows players to enjoy the game and find surprises, adding excitement over time.
A Stardew Valley player who has enjoyed the game for nearly 800 hours shared their surprise at learning about changing the game's bobbers for fishing. While the single discovery pleased the Stardew Valley fan, they also immediately learned something new from a shared comment about how the bobbers work.
Stardew Valley's fishing system is simple to learn, but more complicated to master. In essence, all one needs to do to capture a fish is to keep the fishing bar over the fish's location while reeling the rod in. However, plenty of complications can come into the picture, from jittery, rapidly-moving fish to treasure boxes luring people away from their catch. While there are many options for tackle and bobbers that can make fishing easier or more profitable, one particular alteration is cosmetic and took this player by surprise.
Haunted Chocolatier's Combat Plans Demand One Big Upgrade Over Stardew Valley
One major upgrade to the foundation laid by Stardew Valley could do wonders to help Haunter Chocolatier's take on combat thrive.
Reddit user and Stardew Valley fan Canine0001 shared their surprise at discovering the Bobber Machine in Willy's fishing store. Although they had 800 hours in the game, they'd never noticed the existence of the Bobber Machine, and were happy to share their delight in changing the look of their bobber into a flower. Other players were quick to point out that the Bobber Machine had only been around since the 1.6 Stardew Valley update, so the player hadn't been blind to it for all 800 hours. However, their new discovery was quickly made even sweeter by another fan.
Variety is the Spice of Life
While players can choose from any available bobber style to use from the Bobber Machine, they also have the option of making it a random pick every time they cast their line. Another Stardew Valley fan shared with the OP that under the list of available bobbers, players should see a die. If clicked on, this will change the bobber's appearance every time a player casts their line, choosing from the list of available bobbers that they've unlocked. While the list may be small at the start, there are ultimately 39 different bobber styles to pick from, so randomizing could make fishing much more interesting visually.
Stardew Valley players discover new things about the game all the time, often after hundreds or even thousands of hours of enjoying the indie game. While some find it a bit embarrassing to realize something later on, the laid-back nature of Stardew Valley allows players to enjoy it however they like. In a title as content and feature-rich as Stardew Valley, discovering things later on just helps to keep the game entertaining and exciting year after year.
