To unlock Treasure Hunter, players will need to find ten containers, use Nix to fetch an item, and find four different ways to make Nix happy. The first two are fairly simple, but completing the last one will require a bit of effort. Thankfully, there are more than four ways to make Nix happy in Star Wars Outlaws, most of which are pretty easy to pull off.

How to Make Nix Happy in Star Wars Outlaws

There are numerous ways to make Nix happy in Star Wars Outlaws, meaning that players will have a bit of flexibility when it comes to unlocking the Treasure Hunter ability. The following list details the methods that we used during our playthrough, although it's worth noting that petting Nix will also make him happy, as too will a few other things.

  1. Perform a Speed Boost: After unlocking the Speed Boost ability, press the Square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox) button while riding Kay's Speeder.
  2. Swing on Kay's Grappling Hook: Press the R3 button while in range of a grappling point.
  3. Complete a Galactic Street Food Routine: Find a Galactic Street Food vendor and then complete the associated mini-game.
  4. Have Nix Distract an Enemy with Smoke: Target a smoke barrel and then press the L1 (PlayStation) or LB (Xbox) button. Once Nix is in position, tap the button a few more times to make it detonate.

How to Unlock the Treasure Hunter Ability in Star Wars Outlaws

Once players have met the aforementioned requirements, they'll be able to unlock Treasure Hunter by heading to the Abilities menu, highlighting the ability, and then holding either the X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox) button. Once unlocked, Treasure Hunter makes it so that Nix alerts Kay to nearby containers so that she never misses out on a scavenging opportunity again.
