Summary
- Gamers on PS5 are reporting screen tearing issues with the latest update for Star Wars Outlaws.
- Despite issues, Massive Entertainment is committed to improving Star Wars Outlaws with patches and content.
Many gamers are reporting problems with Star Wars Outlaws after the game's latest update on PlayStation 5, with some deeming the game unplayable in its current state. The latest update for Star Wars Outlaws was only released a few days ago, but it hasn't taken long for gamers on PS5 to notice a massive issue.
After plenty of hype, the review scores for Star Wars Outlaws disappointed, with the game releasing to an overall mixed reception from fans and critics alike. It was a game that took players to various iconic Star Wars locations as well as some new ones, but was ultimately bogged down by a few too many issues for some. One common complaint was how the game follows the standard Ubisoft open-world formula, even in a galaxy far, far away. Despite this mixed reception, Massive Entertainment remains committed to releasing patches and content for Star Wars Outlaws, ensuring it's the best game it possibly can be.
Every Star Wars Movie, Ranked From Worst to Best
With 12 Star Wars movies, and more well on their way, it's time to definitively rank the spin-offs, prequels, originals, and sequels.
A video posted to Twitter by user Riannon892 has shown an issue that many are having with the recent Star Wars Outlaws update on PlayStation 5. Screen tearing is extremely prevalent, which makes it difficult to play when in motion. The tweet gained some traction online, with many replies reporting the exact same issue after the patch. Some described it as "unplayable" in their responses to Riannon892, so hopefully, Massive Entertainment can get on top of this issue before it drags on for too much longer.
Star Wars Outlaws Screen Tearing is Causing Issues on PS5
Prior to this update, the PlayStation 5 version of Star Wars Outlaws wasn't noticeably different from its Xbox Series X/S or PC counterparts. Star Wars Outlaws even makes great use of one PlayStation-exclusive feature on the DualSense controller, perhaps giving it an edge over the other versions of the game. It's a shame that so many players are having this issue at the moment, as it puts the PS5 version at a disadvantage at the moment.
While it's no secret that sales for the game were mixed, Massive Entertainment is still planning ahead for the future of Star Wars Outlaws. Last month, the studio released a Star Wars Outlaws roadmap through November. Even beyond that, there are two story packs to come. The second, A Pirate's Fortune, is currently penned in for a Spring 2025 release date, although it remains to be seen how much support the game will receive after this is released.
