Star Wars Outlaws is an upcoming open-world game developed by Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment, one set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Very little has been revealed so far, but the Star Wars Outlaws' gameplay shown so far has certainly built a fair bit of hype. It tells an original story focuses on the Underworld of the Star Wars universe, ensuring players will find themselves in many-a-hive of scum and villainy. This is especially true because of the planets confirmed so far.
It remains to be seen how Star Wars Outlaws combines open-world gameplay with five different planets, but players will be able to visit Tatooine, Cantonica, Kijimi, Akiva, and Toshara. The latter is a brand new moon for the franchise, while obviously Tatooine has a long history in the Star Wars franchise. Others have been represented in other Star Wars media, but for those who don't read comics or novels, it's entirely possible they've never heard of Akiva.
Every Planet Confirmed for Star Wars Outlaws So Far

The History of Star Wars Outlaw's Akiva Planet
- Location: Outer Rim Territories
- Allegiances: Confederacy of Independent Systems, Galactic Empire Occupation, New Republic, First Order
- Environment: Hot, humid planet. Frequent Thunderstorms.
- Capital: Myrra, a sprawling city built on catacombs.
- Indigenous Races: Uugteen, who once inhabited the catacombs beneath Myrra; Ahia-Ko, who lived in the great jungles.
Akiva's history is pretty straightforward. During the Clone Wars, it had sided with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and it had a sizable droid construction facility. The Galactic Empire occupied the planet after the Clone Wars, but because it was so remote, the Empire's presence was relatively small. Instead, the government, the Satrapy of Myrra, would enforce Galactic law on the planet. The Battle of Endor would inspire the Rebellion on Akiva, which drove out the Empire that had fled to Akiva and overthrew the Satrapy. However, peace and clear direction was lacking on Akiva—in the following years, it would not only join the New Republic, but it would later also pledge itself to the First Order.
During its time under the New Republic, it would attempt to chase out the various gang members, crime syndicates, and general corruption that had established themselves. However, this is far after the events of Star Wars Outlaws. Fans should instead expect planet-wide corruption, crime, and so forth. Furthermore, there are two important features to Akiva fans should expect.
Every Akiva Appearance in Star Wars Media
- Upcoming Appearance in Star Wars Outlaws
- Mentioned in Star Wars 35 (comic from 2015)
- Mentioned in From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi
- Aftermath
- Mentioned in Aftermath: Life Debt
- Aftermath: Empire's End
- Resistance Reborn
The first is the capital of Myrra, a sprawling city that played host to the Satrapy, to various crime syndicates, and more. How exactly Ubisoft brings this city to life remains to be seen, but it's clear that at least one part of this planet will be very urban. It's hard to imagine visiting Akiva without spending a solid amount of time in Myrra, though it's obviously much smaller in scope than the city-planet of Coruscant.
Perhaps the more interesting element is the Catacombs under Myrra. These underground areas have been used by many races, organizations, and others for many reasons, with rumors that it once hosted a Jedi training Temple, once hosted the Sith, and now hosts a Hutt breeding ground, as well as other criminal organizations. The Hutts likely dominate this underground, but it's likely that many ne'er-do-wells uses the halls for smuggling contraband, among other nefarious deeds.
Given the focus on galactic crime and performing a Heist unbeforeseen in the Outer Rim, Akiva appearing in Star Wars Outlaws seems like an obvious choice, but how its planet composition, organization, and even government factor in remains to be seen.
