Star Wars Outlaws gives players lots of activities outside of the main story to complete. Many of these side quests or jobs will give reputation to the various factions of a planet, helping your standing with that faction along with giving useful rewards.

A smaller type of mission players can take on is Intel. Intel is a small hint that Kay will overhear or learn about while exploring the galaxy and can lead to additional rewards for those willing to go out of the way and explore them.

How To Get & Use Intel In Star Wars Outlaws

Intel can range in difficulty and rewards, but all of which are worthwhile to complete. Players can get intel through a few different methods:

Purchasing from smugglers.
Overheard at bars or in cities.
Read on datapads.
Told about by NPCs.

Whenever new Intel is obtained, it will appear in the Intel menu which is found by opening the menu and going to the Journal section. Intel will then be the second option from the top, indicated by the magnifying glass icon. Intel is not random, and every source of intel throughout the game is the same for every player and every playthrough.

Intel can also range greatly in how easy it is to complete. Sometimes players will only be given a general idea of where to search on the map with a landmark to look for, while other times there is a pinpointed location. Scrolling through the Intel menu will make sorting them easier and selecting which ones you can accomplish quickly, especially with an upgraded speeder.

Players should seek out Intel wherever possible, including purchasing it from a store for a high price. The rewards for Intel are almost always worthwhile and will outweigh the cost of purchasing the Intel if you are willing to complete it. Intel also needs to be unlocked in the menu before it can be completed, so you don't have any chance of stumbling across Intel by accident. Sometimes there may be an extra step to unlocking the merchant, like for Lalini Ledeno.

Intel will often require exploration outside the main areas of a world, and without the Intel heard about or purchased, the item or thing you're looking for won't even appear. As long as you are willing to take the time to complete Intel, it is always a good purchase and a good way to get upgrade material such as Transparisteel.
