Just about every action game these days uses some form of healing item, and for Star Wars Outlaws, that item is the Bacta Vial. Fans of the genre will be familiar with this type of medical item, which allows Kay Vess to heal on the fly in the heat of combat. And like other games, Outlaws provides its protagonist with a very small max carry limit. Here, we will look at how to increase Bacta Vial carry limit in Star Wars Outlaws, which can be accomplished in multiple ways.
How Star Wars Outlaws Actor Humberly González Made Kay Vess Her Own
The Best War Games chats with Star Wars Outlaws actor Humberly González about how her own personality became intertwined with Kay Vess.
How to Carry More Bacta Vial Healing Items in Star Wars Outlaws
For the first couple of hours in Star Wars Outlaws, Kay Vess will only be able to carry two Bacta Vials at a time. With the rate that Bacta Vials drop from enemies, this may seem appropriate, especially in the game's earlier sections. However, as combat intensifies, and enemies increase in volume and difficulty, it can pay to have even one more space for Bacta.
Currently, there are two known ways to increase Bacta Vial carrying capacity:
- Equipment: Items like clothing and holsters.
- Abilities: Special skills learned from Star Wars Outlaws' many Experts.
How to Increase Healing Item Capacity with Equipment
The world of Star Wars Outlaws is huge, so it is no surprise to learn that there are a huge number of merchants spread throughout. However, many of these merchants are tied to Reputation level. Kay Vess will interact with a wide range of criminal syndicates in Outlaws, all of whom utilize their own network of merchants.
These merchants will have some stock that is available to all, as well as a special VIP stock that is only available to those clients that are in good standing with their affiliated syndicate. Much of the game's best gear is only available for purchase after reaching a specific reputation level. Other high-end equipment can be received as gifts upon reaching certain reputation levels. However, for purposes of example, we will focus on what is available in the early-game.
Abelor Survivalist Belt:
In general, Survivalist gear tends to be the most likely to increase Bacta carry limit, and improve anything Bacta and health related.
The first piece of Bacta-capacity-increasing equipment you are likely to encounter is sold by Berek Keehro, a tailor in Mirogana. He is located in the heart of Mirogana Market, and is also the merchant associated with the "Nix Treasure Trader" side-quest. Use Outlaws' fast-travel system to enter the market area. He sells the Abelor Survivalist Belt for a base price of 1000 credits. He is affiliated with the Pyke Syndicate, so his prices can change depending on your level of reputation with the Pyke. We purchased it for 1100 credits, as our reputation was bad.

There is a huge amount of content in Star Wars Outlaws, and we have only scratched the surface. As you make your way through the game, check merchants, smugglers, and any gifts for more gear that increases Bacta Vial carry limit. Any more we find will be added in future updates.
Cholganna Survivalist Belt:
As the game progresses, you'll eventually unlock the ability to travel to other planets. Each planet has its own unique items and traders. You'll find even better gear, which is known as 'Superior' gear, as you press on. On the snow-covered planet of Kijimi, we found the Cholganna Survivalist Belt for sale at Lani Wesla's Tailor shop, off Queen's Road. This particular location is not allied with any syndicate, so you should get decent prices regardless of reputation. While it is not clear how much you have to spend, it is possible to get a 'Trusted Customer' discount of 10%. This belt costs 1750 credits.
- The Cholganna Survivalist Belt increases Bacta Carry Limit by one. It also fully restores health after taking lethal damage once per death, making it one of the best belts in the game.
Remember, if you don't like the appearance of the Survivalist gear, you can always use the game's transmog system to change the look. Star Wars Outlaw' s many bonus items contain several great looking pieces of equipment.
How to Increase Healing Item Capacity with Abilities
The next way to increase the amount of Bacta Healing Vials Kay Vess can carry is through abilities. There are several NPCs in Star Wars Outaws known as Experts. These characters serve as individual skill trees, opening up six abilities each. However, unlike most games, where players earn skill points to unlock abilities, Outlaws requires Kay to perform certain actions and collect certain items to gain access.
Currently, there is one Expert known to feature two abilities that will increase Bacta carrying capacity. That Expert is Selo Rovak, the Mechanic. Players will gain access to Selo's mission "The Mechanic" after completing the first few quests on Mirogana. It will be at the end of "New Tricks" that Danka hands over intel on this Expert. You will have to complete a fairly large side-quest to gain access to Sebo's abilities.
Once The Mechanic is unlocked, there are two abilities that concern Bacta Vial capacity:
|

Unlock Conditions |
|---|---|
|
Scoundrel's Pouch |
|
|
Outlaw's Pouch |
|
- Both abilities will increase Bacta Vial carrying capacity by one.
Use the game's tip system to locate both Elastic and basic Durafiber Fabric. Coarseweave is found at several merchants, and is also commonly found throughout the game world. Robuma Leather is trickier. The easiest way to find it in the early game is to purchase the Intel from Berek Keehro at Mirogana Market. This will lead you to a special merchant who carries the material.
