As you make your way through the early sections of Star Wars Outlaws, it may seem like Kay Vess' max health will not be a major area for concern. But as the world begins to open up, and Kay is faced with constantly increasing challenge levels, knowing how to increase max health in Star Wars Outlaws will prove to be incredibly valuable. This is especially true when you play Outlaws at the higher difficulty levels. Here, we will explain how players can increase Kay's health bar, making her battles just a bit more forgiving.

How to Increase Max Health in Star Wars Outlaws

Currently, there are two known methods of increasing Kay Vess' max health:

  • Abilities: This method is accomplished through Star Wars Outlaws' Expert system, which provides access to the game's wide selection of abilities. Kay will meet and recruit multiple Experts throughout her journey, with each character featuring six abilities loosely based around their specialty.
  • Charms: Fans of the action-RPG genre will be used to this mechanic. Kay begins Star Wars Outlaws with one Major charm slot, and one Minor charm slot. Charms are then acquired through a variety of methods, then equipped in an open slot.

Star Wars Outlaws is a massive game, and there is a good chance we have not yet discovered every ability and charm. With this in mind, we will list the methods that allowed us to increase max health as early in the game as possible. We will continue to add more methods of increasing max health as we discover them.

How to Increase Max Health through Abilities

Abilities will likely be the easiest method of quickly increasing max health for most players. This is because the game's first Expert, Bram the Bartender, features an ability that can be unlocked as soon as you get to Mirogana.

Armored Undershirt

Armored Undershirt is one of the first six abilities that Kay will have access to in Star Wars Outlaws. Unlocking Armored Undershirt requires the following:

  • Armored Undershirt

    • Ironweave x1
    • Coarseweave x8

  • Ironweave is found at the Nix Treasure Trader in Mirogana
  • Coarseweave is found throughout the galaxy, in just about every type of area Kay can visit.
  • Armored Undershirt increases max health by one bar.

Resilient

Resilient is one of The Gunslinger's skills, which is the Expert found on Tattooine. You'll encounter Sherrif Quint during "The Heavy," the main mission on the planet. After completing the first major section of Hoss' questline, you'll learn that there is a famous Gunslinger in the area. This will open up the Expert quest. Completing the questline will grant access to Quint's abilities.

  • Resilient

    • Defeat Imperial forces in a row while at Wanted 3 or higher. (Must defeat 10 in a row)
    • Defeat enemies in a row while at 1 health. (Must defeat 5 in a row)

  • Resilient increases max health by one bar.

How to Increase Health using Charms

Copalroot Bead:

There is currently one Minor charm known to increase health: the Copalroot Bead. This charm is sold by a civilian survivalist named Chrissanta Palus. Fast-Travel to Jaunta's Hope, and from there you can head east to find her just north of Typhon Rock. If you are struggling to find the way up to her store, look for the grapple point on the cliff's edge.

  • The Copalroot Bead is sold for 1000 Credits.

The Nix Treasure Trader in Mirogana sells a piece of Intel for 250 credits. The Intel leads to Chrissanta. If, for any reason, she is not showing up when you arrive at the location, try purchasing the intel from the merchant and check again.
