Every good open-world game needs a great mini-game, and that holds true for many titles, whether it's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Horizon Forbidden West, or Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. You can now add Star Wars Outlaws to this ever-growing list. Ubisoft's take on the Star Wars IP features several mini-games that will challenge your mind more than you might expect.
While Kessel Sabacc demands that you remember all its rules like the back of your hand, the same isn't true for Fathier Races. To win these races, you just need to be aware of your surroundings and have good reading comprehension skills. The guide below covers everything you need to know about Fathier Races and how to quickly earn credits from them.

How To Always Win Fathier Races In Star Wars Outlaws
The world (or more accurately, the galaxy) in Star Wars Outlaws isn’t fair, and neither should you be. To win Fathier races every time, you'll need to resort to cheating — and yes, cheating does pay off, at least in this case. There are two key things you need to know: first, the details about the races, and second, how tips work.
How Fathier Races Work In Star Wars Outlaws
Fathier Races are events where several fathiers (horse-like creatures) compete on a looped track. These races are so popular that they are broadcast at Fathier tables, which can be found in various locations. Before the race begins, you can place a bet on any fathier at one of these tables. If your chosen fathier wins, you'll receive credits, with the exact payout amount revealed to you before placing your bet.
Each fathier comes with specific details that you need to pay attention to:
- Rider’s Name
- Home Planet
- Sex of the Fathier
- Age of the Fathier
- Height of the Fathier
- Weight of the Fathier
You should also consider the fathier’s total wager, which indicates the total amount bet on it by other participants.

How Tips Work In Star Wars Outlaws
Tips about Fathier races can be discovered by Kay Vess through exploration only. Make sure to read every single datapad you come across. Some datapads will reveal that the next Fathier race is rigged and provide hints about which fathier is likely to win.
Datapads do not directly tell you which fathier will win; they only provide hints, leaving it up to you to decode them.
Keep in mind that the tips are randomized, so yours won’t necessarily be the same as others'. However, the crucial part of the tip will always be highlighted in bold.
It's a smart idea to take a screenshot whenever you find a tip, as it won’t be saved in any journal, and the datapad containing it will disappear from the world if you stray too far. While returning to the table might provide a vague reminder of the tip, a screenshot is much more reliable.
Winning Your First Fathier Race In Star Wars Outlaws
You'll encounter your first Fathier race early in the game, located at The Broken Hoof in Canto. While you can place a bet now, it’s not recommended, as you'd be leaving it to chance. However, you can cheat at this starting Fathier table. Leave the building and explore until you find an NPC who mentions that the next race is rigged and asks you to place a bet on his behalf. Take the money — of course, you won’t be returning it to him. Now, look to the left of the NPC. You’ll find a datapad there. Read it carefully. Once again, the tips are randomized, so yours won’t necessarily match the example shown above.
The important part (the bold part) of the above tip was: "No one thinks that fathier will win." This indicates that the winning fathier should have the lowest total wager. Now, head back to the Fathier table and check the details of all the fathiers. In the example above, the "Man From Nabo" fathier has the lowest wager pool of 0.8 million credits, meaning that's the one likely to win.
Initially, you'll only be able to bet 5 credits, but this amount increases as you progress through the story and explore more Fathier tables.
In the example above, the chosen fathier won the race, and as a result, Kay Vess received 58 credits from a 5-credit bet. This is why you should only bet on Fathier races when you have insider information — it's a surefire way to earn credits with minimal effort. Betting without inside information is likely to cost you credits, but if you enjoy the adrenaline rush, go for it.
