A new Star Wars Jedi: Survivor hotfix is ready for last-gen players. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a demanding game and potentially one of the most ambitious projects Respawn Entertainment has released so far. As the developer gears up for the highly anticipated third title in the Star Wars Jedi series, it has taken time to make the necessary tweaks to Survivor.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor had a troubled launch, with players finding bugs and not enjoying how the game was optimized overall. Since then, Respawn Entertainment has dedicated a lot of time to making sure the title runs smoothly on any system. This comes with some concessions, such as having the frame-rate of cinematics locked at 30fps on current-gen consoles to ensure graphical fidelity. Instances like these make a case for the benefits offered by systems like the PS5 Pro. However, Respawn has taken steps in the opposite direction, making a version of the game for the PS4 and Xbox One.
A new update for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released on October 10. The bulk of this update was focused on improving stability even in intense situations and enhancing audio during cinematics. Jedi: Survivor is known for having graphically intense moments throughout the entire experience, even on current-gen hardware, so the ability for Respawn to pare down aspects of the game and optimize it for weaker systems is no small feat.
