Hasbro has announced new Star Wars figures based on several droids from The Mandalorian. The models are planned to be released as part of a bundle, which Star Wars collectors will be able to get from just one retail chain in summer 2024.

Hasbro has been manufacturing licensed Star Wars toys since the early '90s, when it acquired Kenner Products, which held the rights to make merch based on Lucasfilm's franchise at the time. The majority of all Star Wars media released over the following three decades has inspired some shape or form of the company's toys. Hasbro has been particularly prolific in making The Mandalorian figures ever since the hit series premiered in late 2019.

That trend is now continuing with four new models based on some of the AI-powered robots prominently featured throughout The Mandalorian: the R5-D4, BD-72, and two pit droids. This quartet of figures will be released as yet another addition to Hasbro's Star Wars: The Black Series. The toy maker intends to offer them as part of a unified four-pack, which is planned to hit the store shelves this summer. Only Target store shelves, to be exact, as the U.S. Retailer secured exclusive distribution rights for the newly announced products.

While the bundle is still without a concrete release date, Hasbro did confirm its price tag, revealing that the four-pack will retail at $49.99. The pit droids and R5-D4 are slightly smaller than 6 inches while the figurine based on the BD-72 from The Mandalorian Season 3 and The Book of Boba Fett appears to be roughly one-third of that size. All four models are touted as high-end products, boasting multiple posing points and premium build quality worthy of a collector's attention.

Star Wars: The Black Series R5-D4, BD-72 and Pit Droids Summary

  • Contents: 4 premium droid figures, 7 accessories
  • Retail price: $49.99
  • Release window: summer 2024

Star Wars fans may recognize some of the members of the newly announced droid quartet as the crew of Peli Motto, a Mos Eisley spaceport engineer who helped Din Djarin and Grogu in the first season of The Mandalorian. Aside from the robots themselves, the upcoming bundle also comes with seven accessories: five repair tools and two jet thrusters that can be mounted on the R5-D4. The same astromech droid can also stash the remaining accessories on a rack located between its chassis and legs.

Hasbro's upcoming The Mandalorian figures will hit the market during a bit of a lull for the spin-off series; the show's third season concluded almost a year ago to date, with Disney not officially announcing a fourth one. The media giant did, however, confirm that The Mandalorian and Grogu movie will be debuting in cinemas on May 22, 2026.
