In the Star Wars universe, the Rebel Alliance represents a collection of individuals eager to overthrow the tyrannical rule of the Galactic Empire. As the leading force for good in the galaxy, many of the Rebel Alliance's most notable members have made appearances either in movies or shows.
However, several individuals belonging to the Rebel Alliance have yet to appear in either medium. Their roles have been primarily restricted to novels, video games, and comic books. All of these figures have played a critical role in the Rebel Alliance in some capacity. Whether these Rebels will eventually appear on-screen someday is always an interesting possibility, to say the least.
6 Ferus Olin
Ferus Olin was one of the Rebel Alliance's earliest adherents. A contemporary of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Olin was an accomplished Jedi prior to Order 66. Unlike many of his peers, Olin survived the Jedi Purge and managed to evade the Empire for many years.
Olin established several Rebel cells across the galaxy and made it his mission to harbor any surviving Jedi who still existed. Similar to how Obi-Wan kept watch over the young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, Olin made sure that Princess Leia was kept safe on Alderaan during her youth. Ferus Olin's luck, however, eventually ran out. He was killed in a lightsaber duel with Darth Vader shortly after the destruction of the first Death Star.
5 Garm Bel Iblis
Garm Bel Iblis was one of the founding members of the Rebel Alliance alongside Bail Organa and Mon Mothma. Iblis was a former senator from Corellia, a planet with a strong history of independence. An outspoken critic of the Empire, he began his own resistance movement after Imperial agents murdered his family.
When disagreements erupted between himself and other Rebel leaders, Iblis left the Rebel Alliance to wage his own private war against the Empire. Nevertheless, with the Empire in disarray after the Battle of Endor, Iblis joined the New Republic, becoming one of the new government's staunchest defenders.
4 Borsk Fey'lya
Borsk Fey'lya was arguably one of the Rebel Alliance's most enigmatic figures. Fey'lya was a Bothan, a race known for their ambition and skill at espionage and political maneuvering. Although a believer in the Rebel Alliance's cause, Fey'lya was also motivated by self-interest and a lust for power.
Fey'lya's deft political acumen served him well in the decades after the Battle of Endor. He became the New Republic's Chief of State roughly two decades after the demise of Emperor Palpatine. During the war with the Yuuzhan Vong, Fey'lya sacrificed himself by detonating a bomb that killed thousands of the strange alien invaders.
3 Kyle Katarn
When Star Wars fans think of the Legends continuity, it's hard not to remember Kyle Katarn. Katarn was featured in several video games and other supplementary materials but was never given a role in film or television. That's a shame considering that Katarn is one of the Star Wars universe's most interesting and compelling heroes.
Kyle Katarn was a former Imperial who defected to the Rebel cause after discovering that his father had been murdered by Inquisitor Jerec. Even before he embraced his innate Force powers, Katarn accomplished several missions on behalf of the Rebel Alliance. He destroyed the Empire's Dark Trooper project and stole the original Death Star plans, which enabled the Rebels to destroy the space station in A New Hope.
2 Jan Ors
Of course, when discussing Kyle Katarn, it's only natural to also mention his partner (and love interest), Jan Ors. Jan was a Rebel Intelligence officer from Alderaan who was responsible for recruiting Kyle Katarn to the Alliance's cause. Kyle and Jan became an efficient team, participating in several missions together before and after the Empire's defeat at Endor.
Ors often piloted the Moldy Crow, a ship that became synonymous with both herself and Katarn. Jan's most frequent appearances occurred in the video games, most notably in Dark Forces, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, and Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. Unfortunately, Jan and Kyle have yet to appear on the big screen together.
1 Starkiller
Starkiller's importance to the Rebel Alliance, at least in the Legends continuity, is enormous. Raised as Darth Vader's secret apprentice, Starkiller's strength in the Force is substantial. As the protagonist of The Force Unleashed and its sequel, players are able to witness Starkiller's awesome power in abundance. Not every Force-user can pull Star Destroyers out of the sky and manhandle TIE Fighters with ease, after all.
Starkiller was tasked with bringing together the Empire's most prominent dissidents so that they could be eliminated in one fell swoop. However, at least canonically, Starkiller has a change of heart and decides to help the fledgling Rebel Alliance. The Empire's plan backfires, as the united Rebel leaders set about organizing far-reaching resistance across the galaxy. Starkiller's role in bringing together Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Garm Bel Iblis proved crucial.
