Star Ocean: The Divine Force is a standalone story in the popular Star Ocean series, marking the sixth installation. It starts with one of the main characters, Raymond Lawrence, and his ship getting attacked and crash-landing on a planet where he meets princess Laeticia Aucerius. Players can choose between the two characters, making a major decision on how their gameplay will go.
When selected, Raymond offers players the ability to attack their foes in Star Ocean: The Divine Force with a greatsword, which can be made much more powerful by using his best skills. While he has many options to choose from, there are only a handful that is truly beneficial. Here's a look at those skills.
7 All In
All In is one of Raymond's Active Skills, and it doesn't do much on its own. It must be paired with another skill for maximum damage. It boosts his ATK and INT by 50% each for two seconds, which opens up a whole world of possibilities.
An excellent combination is to use All In and follow it with a Combat Skill like Boulder Crush or Outrage for the best results. All In needs to be used with a powerful skill or attack to make the most of it so that it is not wasted.
6 Cruel Buster
The Cruel Buster skill lets Raymond kick an enemy and launch them away. He will inflict extra damage when the enemy strikes a wall or falls from a significant height. The ATK power for this skill is 120, making it a decent skill to have.
Players can also use All In or Berserk before using Cruel Buster to increase the ATK power. Doing this will maximize the damage output, allowing for even more damage. Whether in a combination or not, this skill is quite useful to have in combat.
5 Boulder Crush
The Boulder Crush skill requires expert timing to use effectively, but deals a lot of damage. Raymond will perform a powerful slash; however, it will leave him open to attack. Strategically performing this move will ensure that Raymond does not take damage as a result.
Because of the damage it causes, Boulder Crush works best when combined with All In or Berserk to maximize damage output. The combination of the two takes Boulder Crush to new heights and will quickly deplete the enemy of health. The only downside is that it only targets one enemy at a time.
4 Berserk
Berserk is an Active Skill that bestows a 50% increase to Raymond's ATK for 10 seconds. However, it has a chance to cause -30% DEF for 10 seconds as well. With the increase in ATK being available for that long, Raymond can be used to deal some serious damage to his foes.
Combining Berserk with several other powerful skills and attacks to create a serious combo will heavily drain the enemy of health, giving the player the upper hand in battle. Players will need to capitalize on the stat boost while they have it to ensure they get the most out of it.
3 Outrage
The Outrage skill is a combination move all on its own, dealing massive damage to a single enemy. Attacks will not interrupt the flow of this move; however, the player can stop it by dodging. I t delivers five hits in a combination of kicks and slashes with an ATK power of 150.
If players want to boost the effects of this skill, they can add to the combination by using All In or Berserk before they engage Outrage. With a 50% ATK boost, this skill will be off the chain with damage output. Even without an ATK boost, this is one of Raymond's most powerful Combat Skills.
2 Abyssal Gate
While this skill has a high cost of 5 AP, it is worth it for the ATK power of 400. When using this skill, Raymond will c ast an aura and then move in to attack. Additionally, the aura will cause damage to the enemy.
This skill targets one enemy only, but is powerful enough that it will deal massive damage. It will be an essential skill to have for the most challenging battles when Raymond needs to charge in ahead of the rest of the party.
1 Extreme Daredevil
Extreme Daredevil is the best of Raymond's Vatting Skills. It offers the most ATK and will have the most impact during a boss fight. It focuses on one enemy, which would be appropriate during a boss fight, and has an ATK power of 1350.
The skill is essentially a rushing technique, but it is given strength by the power of D.U.M.A. While the main target is one enemy, it is so powerful that it will damage any other enemies that are nearby. It is the essential Vatting Skill to have as soon as it is available.
