How to Evolve Characters in Squad Busters
Every character that players unlock in mobile fighting game Squad Busters will be in its most basic form, known as Baby, which is fitting, given each character looks like an infant. However, this is not a permanent fixture in the game, as each character can be upgraded with better stats, new abilities, and a more fitting aesthetic for the battlefield. To evolve characters in Squad Busters, players must collect enough characters to merge into the next evolution tier.
There are two main ways that players can collect characters in Squad Busters;
- By opening chests
- By purchasing them in the store
Chests can be acquired in a number of ways, including leveling up in the game's Squad Journey, but the easiest of these is by completing matches in Squad Busters, regardless of whether you're playing solo or with a friend. The rarity of the chest and the extent of the rewards contained in each chest will be determined by your performance in the game, so this will affect which character you are likely to receive and how many of them are in the chest.
Alternatively, players can also use their hard-earned coins in the Squad Busters shop to purchase more characters. This can be done by selecting the Shop button on the left-hand side of the screen and scrolling to the character section. These often refresh and will vary in price, depending on the rarity of the character and the quantity of characters on offer. The game will assist you in telling if the number of characters for sale is enough for an upgrade, as there will be a green arrow next to any character that can be upgraded after purchase.
Some characters will remain locked until players reach certain milestones in the game's Squad Journey, so expect to find characters that are already unlocked in chests the majority of the time.
All Character Evolutions in Squad Busters
Every character in Squad Busters has four evolution levels, each more powerful than the last in this popular mobile game. With each new evolution tier that players reach, the character will not only look different to the previous level, but they will also learn a new skill that they can apply in battle. The four character evolution tiers are as follows;
- Baby
- Classic
- Super
- Ultra
Each tier level requires 10 of the previous level to be merged together to form a more powerful evolution. So, to get a Classic Barbarian, players will need 10 Baby Barbarians to create one. This ratio applies for each tier, so 10 Classics make one Super, and 10 Supers make one Ultra.
