An Event For Spy x Family
The Spy x Family Anime Extra Mission is an event for anime that was announced in December 2023 and held on June 9 at the Musashino Forest Sports Plaza in Tokyo. Various cast members, including the Forgers, were present, and original stories were read. The event also featured live dubbing, some behind-the-scenes stories and a variety corner. While the Forger family did attend, Anya Forger's voice actor, Atsumi Tanezaki, did so virtually because of illness. The original stories were written by Aya Yajima, author of Spy x Family: Family Portrait and the Spy x Family CODE: White Novelization, with supervision from Tatsuya Endō.
Four of these extra stories were read at the event. In addition to Forger voice actors Takuya Eguchi as Loid Forger, Atsumi Tanezaki as Anya Forger, Saori Hayami as Yor Forger, and Kenichirō Matsuda as Bond Forger, the event also saw the attendance of Kensho Ono, who plays Yor's brother Yuri. In addition to that, we also saw Damian Desmond's voice actor, Natsumi Fujiwara, Emiri Katou as Becky Blackbell, and Ayane Sakura, who plays Fiona Frost, also known as Agent Nightfall. As one would expect, there were also various kinds of Spy x Family memorabilia for sale at the event. Those who could not attend the event in person can watch a stream until June 16 at 11:59 pm JST. The major development at the Anime Extra Mission event was the announcement of the third season of the Spy x Family anime series.
What Can We Expect From Season 3?
A Number of Dramatic Developments Await
From revelations about Loid's past, which we've only seen a brief glimpse of, to Yor unknowingly befriending Damian's mother, to the return of Eden College's most infamous disciplinarian, known for the expulsion of over 100 students in his time at the institution; Spy x Family season 3 is set to be extremely eventful. The second season also did not get through the entirety of the manga's WISE arc, adapting only two chapters of the aforementioned story arc. This arc will feature an unlikely friendship between Fiona Frost and Loid's friend and informant, Franky. While no release date has been set, it's great to know that the series will be returning sooner rather than later.
