Split Fiction is the third co-op exclusive game from developer Hazelight Studios, following the TGA 2021 GOTY winner It Takes Two. While It Takes Two took anywhere from 12 to 16 hours to beat, Split Fiction can take significantly longer to complete – especially if you want to 100% the game and get every Split Fiction achievement and secret.
Co-Op Games That Require The Most Teamwork
By default, co-op games are based on the idea of teamwork. However, the following co-op games become downright impossible without a functional team.
The total number of chapters in Split Fiction is eight, including the prologue level. Four of these levels feature three Side Stories each, for a total of twelve Side Stories in Split Fiction, bringing the total number of unique levels up to 19.
Depending on how long it takes you to beat Split Fiction's puzzles, or how much of a completionist you are, the time it takes to beat Split Fiction can vary.
How Long Is Split Fiction?
Split Fiction has eight levels, each of which whisks players between Mio and Zoe's sci-fi and fantasy worlds as they explore simulated versions of their own stories, gain new abilities, and learn more about what Rader Publishing is really up to.
Each of the levels contains multiple sub-chapters, and there are twelve side stories that take Mio and Zoe to unique (but optional) sub-levels. Depending on how long you take to complete levels, and how much side content you want to engage with, the Split Fiction game length is about 14 to 16 hours – about 1.5 to 2.5 hours per level, including Side Stories.
However, if you skip side content and wait until you beat the main story to go back and do all of the Side Stories, that runtime shortens significantly. If you focus exclusively on beating the campaign, it will take about 10 to 12 hours to beat Split Fiction, then around 2 to 3 hours to beat every Side Story in the game.
How Long To 100% Complete Split Fiction?
Split Fiction has 20 Achievements to earn, 12 Side Stories, and lots of hidden secrets to discover throughout each elaborate level. If you focus exclusively on beating the story, the Split Fiction length is around 12 hours. If you factor in Side Stories, that goes up to around 16 hours.
Players who want to unlock every Achievement in the game, and discover every secret, should expect to spend around three to four more hours. To 100% Split Fiction ( or get the Split Fiction Platinum trophy on PlayStation), expect to spend around 20 hours to see everything Split Fiction has to offer.
