Split Fiction features many interesting side-stories that teleport players into a completely different world with unique gameplay mechanics. Gameshow is one of the most fun side stories that puts the player in the middle of a high-stakes game of hot potato. The only catch is that the potato is a bomb that will blow up if players hold it for too long. However, each round is going to be tougher than the last, introducing a new obstacle course every time.

How to Start the Gameshow Side Story in Split Fiction

Players can start the Gameshow side story right at the beginning of the Walking Stick of Doom sublevel of the Hopes of Spring chapter in Split Fiction. Right after players enter the level, they'll need to progress a bit further to find the side story bubble. The bubble is located inside a metal platform that you'll have to reach by using the obstacle course underneath it.

If the bomb hits the ground, it'll explode, restarting the whole round. Players can catch the bomb by simply holding the respective prompt, even if they aren't directly looking at it when it's thrown.

Round 1

Round 1 of Gameshow Side Story Split Fiction

The first round of the Gameshow side story is quite simple, as it exists only to show the players how passing the bomb works.

Simply pass the bomb to the other player, and you'll need to grab it once they pass it over to you. Do this four times in total to pass the round and move to the next one.

Round 2

Round 2 of Gameshow Side Story Split Fiction

The next round will take things a bit further and will require you to juggle the bomb and discard it into the compartment in the middle of the platforms. So, players will need to run down the platforms while passing the bomb to each other to avoid it blowing up.

After reaching the compartment, the player without the bomb will need to first open up the compartment. Once it's opened, the player with the bomb will send the bomb down the compartment, completing the second round of the Gameshow side story.

Round 3

Round 3 of Gameshow Side Story Split Fiction

The third round will introduce jump pads into the mix. There's a glass wall in the middle, which will prevent players from passing the bomb from one side to another. To do that, players will need to use jump pads to get high enough to pass the ball over the wall and to the other side.

After getting near the compartment, players will be able to pass the ball normally beyond the wall. However, quickly discard it into the compartment to end the round and progress further.

Round 4

Round 4 of Gameshow Side Story Split Fiction

The next round will now have fiery corridors on both sides that players will need to pass through to get to the compartment at the end.

The best strategy here is that one player holds the bomb while the other safely passes through the corridor. Once the player on the other side has passed through the corridor, pass the bomb to them, and now you can pass the corridor on your own side.

Once both players reach the middle safely, they can dispose of the bomb in the compartment.

Round 5

Round 6 of Gameshow Side Story Split Fiction

The fifth round will change things quite a lot. Instead of a tough obstacle course, you'll face off against a crusher robot that will engage the player holding the bomb. So, the player holding the bomb will need to cover some distance before passing it to the other player. While the robot starts making its way to the other player, run a little further before receiving the bomb back.

After jumping the gap, the robot won't be following you anymore. So, wait for the other player to make it across and then throw the bomb into the compartment.

Round 6

Round 5 of Gameshow Side Story Split Fiction

The sixth round will bring back the pads that spew fire, but they'll be placed vertically. So, simply keep passing the bomb between your partner and yourself while making it across the moving platforms. Use the jump pad to head to the upper section and use the moving platforms to make it to the bomb compartment.

Once you reach it, simply dispose the bomb to make it to the final level of the Gameshow side story in Split Fiction.

Round 7

The final round will be the toughest, as you'll need to finally end the game show by taking out the host. So, carefully make your way through the particle destroyer machine and ask for the partner to pass the bomb. It's best to wait for the other player to pass through the hurdles at their end before throwing the bomb.

After passing the bomb, one player must quickly use moving platforms at the end to reach one of the jump pads before receiving the bomb from the other player. After using the jump pad, reach atop the game show host and press the prompt button. Wait for the other player to reach the top and press their side of the prompt.

Once both players successfully press their prompts, the bomb will be thrown inside the game show host, eventually destroying it. Once the host is defeated, players will complete the Gameshow side story and resume their adventure in the Hopes of Spring chapter in Split Fiction.
