In the comics, he has gone on to don the guises of Anti-Venom, Toxin, the King in Black, and even Carnage and has evolved from a villain of Spider-Man to an anti-hero, a lethal protector. Like with almost every character in Marvel Comics, there are several multi-verse versions of the character from other worlds apart from the mainstream 616-universe.

It is worth stating that this list does not contain the different aliases that the main Eddie Brock goes by but instead separate characters.

10 Edna Brock (Earth-31913)

The Wild West Version Of Venom

Madame Venom In Marvel Comics
  • Alias: Madame Venom
  • First Appearance: Extreme Venomverse #3 (June, 2023)

A female version of the character, set in the Wild West world of Earth-31913, where Spider-Man is a cowboy, complete with a spider-powered horse.

Edna Brock is the owner of a brothel who acts as a guardian and protector of women and deals justice to those who would harm them. Dragging them out into the desert and torturing them to death...brutal. Going by the guise of Madame Venom, she doesn't actually appear to be associated with a venom symbiote, with the mask being a simple way to strike fear into those who would harm her workers. This character has not appeared in a lot of stories, so there isn't too much to go off in terms of ranking.

9 Pork Grind (Earth-8311)

The World Of Marvel Animals

Pork Grind In Marvel Comics
  • Alias: Pork Grind
  • First Appearance: What The--?! #20 (June, 1992)

In the wacky world of Earth-8311, the Marvel Universe is transformed into a Looney Tunes-like world where the characters are animals. Casual fans may know of Spider-Ham thanks to his inclusion in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

7 Best Marvel Games With Playable Venom

While there may be a limited selection, some Marvel and Spider-Man games allow players to experience the thrills and action of becoming Venom.

However, just like with most versions of the character, there is always a Venom opposite, and this comes in the form of Pork Grind. In the Aniverse, its inhabitants behave like classic cartoon characters. Pork Grind has a preference for using an oversized mallet, which will squash Spider-Ham but leave no lasting effects. Although a clear version of Venom, Pork Grind has no real name, so it may not be Eddie Brock, and his suit doesn't behave like a symbiote either. For this reason, Pork Grind cannot get a much higher ranking.

8 Edward Brock (Earth-2149)

Dubbed The Zombieverse

  • Alias: Venom
  • First Appearance: Marvel Zombies #4 (March, 2006)

The Zombierverse is one of the most famous alternate worlds of Marvel. A zombie plague has terrorized the world, turning its heroes and villains into terrifying undead monsters. Eddie Brock was not one of those lucky ones to escape unaffected.

When Galactus arrived on Earth, Brock was among those fighting The World Devourer, who was taken down by some Cosmic-Powered Zombies. After trying to claim the body as his own, he was eventually defeated by Spider-Man and, in his dying breath, revealed that the Venom symbiote was unable to subsist on the dead flesh and rejected the dying Brock.

7 Edward Brock (Earth-23772)

If Venom Never Was

Eddie Brock As Spider-Man
  • Alias: Spider-Man
  • First Appearance: Extreme Venomverse #1(May, 2023)

This recent addition to the Venom multiverse needs a lot more coverage but has the potential to be even greater. Eddie Brock's life was pretty much the same up until that day in which Spider-Man rejected the Venom symbiote.

In this reality, the mental strain of un-bonding with Venom resulted in his death, and upon feeling guilty of this, he attached himself to Brock and became the new Spider-Man. This version of the Lethal Protector controls Brock and restricts his thoughts and actions. Eventually, he would go on to join the Agent Venom of Earth-1051's symbiote squad and fight Carnage, who was hellbent on destroying every version of Venom.

6 Edward Brock (Earth-688B

Made Famous By Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock
  • Alias: Venom
  • First Appearance: Venom (Sony) #1 (September, 2018)

Perhaps the most famous version of the character, thanks to Tom Hardy's portrayal in Sony's three Venom movies: Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Venom: The Last Dance.

Although the movies have been met with mixed reviews, Hardy's portrayal of Eddie Brock has been well received, and it shed a new light on the character on the silver screen. It touches on the relationship between Brock and the Venom symbiote better than ever before, and the two are one and the same. Maybe fans will get more of this version of the character with the potential inclusion in the up-and-coming Avengers: Secret Wars, which was Venom's first appearance in the comic version of the story.

5 Addy Brock (Earth-14512)

Peni Parker's Adversary

  • Alias: VEN#m
  • First Appearance: Edge of Spider-Geddon #2 (August, 2018)

Most versions of Spider-Man have some form of Eddie Brock to cause them issues. Peni Parker of Earth-14512 is no exception with Addy Brock. This version of the character was a classmate of Parker, who was the pilot of the experimental VEN#m suit. This Earth does not have Spider-powered creatures, but instead, they pilot mechs inspired by some classic Spider-Man characters.

4 Edward Brock (Earth-92131)

The First Animated Depiction Of Venom

  • Alias: Venom
  • First Appearance: Spider-Man S1E01 (November 19, 1994)

Spider-Man: The Animated Series was groundbreaking for many reasons, introducing a whole new generation of fans to the world of the wall-crawler. One of these reasons was the first appearance of Eddie Brock outside the comics.

His story is pretty much the same as the comic version, bonding with the Venom symbiote after Spider-Man rejected it and having a hatred for both Spider-Man and Peter Parker. The look of the Venom suit is awesome; the red and blue highlights make it super unique, and it helps to tie in with both the animation style and the Spider-Man colors.

3 Edward Brock Jr. (Earth-1610)

The Ultimate Universe

  • Alias: Venom
  • First Appearance: Ultimate Spider-Man #33 (December, 2002)

The Ultimate Universe is a darker reality of Earth-616, where the stories have more mature themes and largely darker endings. Eddie Brock suffers this fate in Earth-1610.

This version of the character is childhood friends with Peter Parker, and the Venom suit was created by both of their parents as a potential cure for cancer. However, Brock used the suit in a jealous rage after Parker tried to destroy it. This resulted in him becoming a monstrous version of Venom with a lust to devour Spider-Man. This version is much more violent than the regular character and is portrayed as more of a monster than a supervillain. This interesting take on the character is deserving of a high ranking.

2 Eddie Brock (Earth-616)

From The Mainstream Marvel Universe

  • Alias(es): Venom, Anti-Venom, Toxin, King In Black, Sleeper, Carnage
  • First Appearance: Web of Spider-Man #18 (May, 1986)

The mainstream version of Eddie Brock is definitely one of the best due to the arc the character has experienced through the many years in the comics. Going from a Spider-Man villain to an established character in its own right.

He initially became Venom after Peter Parker rejected the symbiote and acted as a supervillain before reforming and becoming the Lethal Protector of San Francisco. He then went on to become Anti-Venom, Toxin, the King in Black, and many other symbiotes along the way. Brock even became the god of Symbiotes, the King in Black, after banishing the creator of the aliens, Knull. A character with a lot of history and depth in the comics, but Eddie Brock is synonymous with being the main host of the Venom symbiote.

1 Eddie Brockiosaurus (Earth-66)

The World Of Dinosaurs

Venomsaurus Rex Marvel Comics
  • Alias: Venomsaurus Rex
  • First Appearance: Edge of Spider-Verse (Vol. 3) #1 (May, 2023)

It is hard to vote for anything other than a Venom version of a Tyrannosaurus Rex as the number one alternate, Eddie Brock. The aptly named Eddie Brockiosaurus was a dinosaur on a prehistoric version of Earth and was bonded with a symbiote after falling into a pit of tar.

There aren't a lot of stories with this character in, but it is insanely cool. Brockiosaurus was one of those Venom variants to join Agent Venom in battling Carnage. However, he was killed in this story thanks to Carnage's newfound Knull powers. It is a crying shame that fans had a taste of something awesome but had it taken away so soon.
