A few years ago, it would have been unheard of for a PlayStation exclusive game to release on PC, but now it's a fairly common occurrence. Sony has been bringing its biggest PlayStation games to PC, with the next title on the docket being none other than Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, the enhanced version of Insomniac Games' critically-acclaimed open world Spider-Man game that was previously released for PS5.
Spider-Man Remastered on PC will come with some platform-specific bonuses for players to look forward to when it launches on August 12, including NVIDIA DLSS and DLAA support, support for ultrawide 12:9, panormanic 32:9, and NVIDIA Surround multi-monitor setups, and more. PC gamers can also look forward to improved shadow effects, assuming they have hardware beefy enough to support all these features. PC gamers will also be able to utilize the unique features of the PS5 DualSense controller assuming they have a controller handy and are playing with a wired connection.
Insomniac Games has also confirmed the Spider-Man Remastered PC requirements. At minimum, players will need a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 or AMD equivalent GPU, an Intel Core i3-4160 or AMD equivalent CPU, 8 GB of RAM, Windows 10 64-bit operating system, and 75 GB HDD storage space.
Spider-Man Remastered PC Requirements
Those interested in playing Spider-Man Remastered on PC should note that there are some bonuses they can snag if they pre-order through Steam or the Epic Games Store. Those that pre-order Spider-Man Remastered on PC will get early unlocks for the Iron Spider Suit, Spider-Punk Suit, and Velocity Suit, in addition to the Spider-Drone gadget and 5 skill points to spend. All of this can be earned in-game, of course, so it's not a big deal if one forgets to pre-order.
Spider-Man Remastered isn't the only Spider-Man game coming to PC. Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a small-scale follow-up that acts as a sort of stop gap between this game and its sequel, will be available for PC at some point later this year. It's likely that fans can expect similar PC requirements and features with Spider-Man: Miles Morales, though it may be best way to wait for official information.
Unfortunately for PC gamers, they will likely have to wait quite a long time to play Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 game that's currently scheduled to launch at an undetermined point in 2023. While Sony has been bringing more of its games to PC, there's always been months, if not years, between the PlayStation versions and their PC counterparts, and that's unlikely to change for the new Spider-Man game.
Spider-Man Remastered is out now for PS5 with a PC version launching on August 12.
