Over time, the femme fatale has grown in popularity among fans, appearing across various Spider-Man media, ranging from games to animated series. One of the more recent appearances of Hardy came in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in 2023, where she plays a fairly limited role. Regardless of that, she remains a popular character among fans of Insomniac's franchise, who were recently treated to a remarkable Black Cat cosplay.
In a Reddit post, user tofu_games shared glimpses of their take on Black Cat through some impressive cosplay. The images show the Spider-Man fan in the typical black attire of the Marvel villain along with the iconic white hair. Interestingly, the cosplay artist seems to have ditched Felicia Hardy's eye-gear which is present in the games. Showing their love for the PS5 exclusive title, they can be seen holding onto a Marvel's Spider-Man 2-themed special edition PS5 console and DualSense controller.
Spider-Man Fan's Black Cat Cosplay Wows the Game's Community
The Spider-Man cosplay artist's appearance as the Black Cat is getting increasingly popular among the game's online community. Several Reddit users came out with words of praise for the effort put into the costume and the get-up. A user exclaimed, "Amazing! I love the nails." Another comment stated, "... Exactly what [sic] I would have pictured her in live [sic] action." One of the replies from the artist revealed that developer Insomniac Games had also shared their cosplay on its Instagram story.
Apart from cosplaying Marvel's Spider-Man characters, fans have also shared other creations with the community in the past. This includes concepts like different color variants of Spider-Man 2's movie-inspired suits. Other fan creations that have fascinated players before range from custom cover arts to repackaged game trailers.
It may soon be time for Spider-Man fans to dive back into Insomniac's rendition of New York City when Sony's most powerful PS5 variant, the PS5 Pro, launches on November 7. That's because Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is one of the games that have been confirmed to be getting a facelift to make the most of the PS5 Pro's hardware capabilities. How much of a difference these changes will make to the overall experience of playing as the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is yet to be seen.
