According to a Twitter post by Saber Interactive’s Tim Willits, who served as studio director at id Software until 2019, Space Marine 2 "is the fastest-selling game we’ve ever worked on," and has reportedly beaten heavy hitters in the Quake franchise, various Doom sequels, and Rage. Willits also mentioned in the post that the former CEO of id Software, Todd Hollenshead, who departed id Software in 2013 and currently works with Willits at Saber, also shares the same beliefs. If the sales information for Space Marine 2 is indeed accurate, this is an incredible feat for the Florida-based studio.

Space Marine 2 Is a Massive Hit for Saber Interactive

Space Marine 2 reviews praised several aspects of the game, and now the title has proven to be a success on Steam. In its first 24 hours, Space Marine 2 became a huge hit on the platform, registering 225,690 players and showcasing an 80% approval rate among fans. This also made the title the most-played Warhammer game on Steam, overtaking previous titles in the series.

Even though the game has only just launched, Saber Interactive hasn't rested on its laurels and has already shared Space Marine 2's roadmap. The game will have four seasons spread across 2024 and 2025, with Season One arriving in September, which will add ultrawide support, private PvE lobbies, and the Battle Barge Sparring Arena to all players for free.
