South Park: Snow Day brings a new adventure for your New Kid to participate in alongside Cartman, Kyle, Stan, Kenny, and other familiar faces. During the snowy adventure, you will encounter many different enemies, objectives, and boss battles to overcome, so improving the abilities of your New Kid is important.

Dark Matter is a material that can be collected in South Park: Snow Day and accumulated to enhance the abilities of your New Kid, strengthening certain aspects such as health, ability speed, damage output, and more. For this reason, it is important to know how to obtain Dark Matter and what to do with it.

How to Get Dark Matter in South Park: Snow Day

In South Park: Snow Day, Dark Matter can be obtained as you work your way through the game. This material can be gained as a result of boss battles, objectives, or hidden among various loot scattered around the map.

For example, one of the first bundles of Dark Matter that can be obtained is after you break Randy out of the ice and defeat the waves of elves within. Doing so will unlock a tunnel, which has a bunch of items to the left that can be smacked with your weapons and picked up. This includes a bunch of Dark Matter, which will give you your first bundle to utilize.

What to Do With Dark Matter in South Park: Snow Day?

To utilize Dark Matter, you will first need to find and speak to Mr. Hankey. To find Mr. Hankey, you will need to return to your base camp at Kupa Keep. Once here, turn left and walk all the way past the Bazaar. Eventually, you will reach an area that is blank, apart from a snowman and a portaloo. Walk up to the portaloo and open it, and Mr. Hankey will spring out with a greeting to you. He will explain the rules of Dark Matter to you and then open the Dark Matter Perks menu for the first time.

Within this menu, you can expend Dark Matter to unlock Perks for your New Kid in a skill tree-like format. However, perhaps the best part of this whole mechanic is that you can respec your Perks at any point, which will refund the Dark Matter from any purchased Perks and their branched skills. This will enable you to place this Dark Matter into other Perks of your choice, which enables you to change things around to create a balanced team of New Kids when playing co-op with friends or switch things up to try something new if you're playing single-player mode.
