Overexposed as the concept can feel at times, power fantasies really hit the spot when executed well. With awesome animation, an intriguing hunter system, constant fights, mysterious lore, and an ever-improving protagonist, Solo Leveling serves as a prime example of how fun these stories can be. Manhwa Sung Jinwoo is one of the most important OP protagonists of the last decade, and his anime version has helped Solo Leveling reach a wider audience than ever before.
As long as characters like Sung, Goku, and Gojo exist, people will continue to debate who will win in a fight, and I am not an exception. Heated as these arguments can get at times, they are also entertaining and fun, as long as they are not taken too seriously. So, let us pick out a few anime characters who can beat Sung Jinwoo without much issue, at least his Season 2 iteration.
To avoid complicating matters and spoilers, only a character's anime version will be considered, and their strength will be based on the most recent episode in the timeline. Consequently, the upcoming characters are compared to Sung Jinwoo at the end of Solo Leveling Season 2.
Light Novel Sung (and Solo Leveling Ragnarok Sung) is ridiculously powerful and nearly unbeatable, but that version will not be taken into account. The same goes for the other characters, quite a few of whom are way stronger in their source material than in the anime adaptation.
While other anime characters could challenge or defeat Sung, this article focuses on fighters whose victory would be largely guaranteed.

As Solo Leveling does not have a level cap, Sung's potential is endless, especially since he continues to grow his army of shadows by recruiting his strongest foes. He has no limits, but he has to constantly work towards reaching higher heights. By the time Villainess Level 99 starts, Yumiella has already (almost) reached her final form. She spent years grinding out her dark magic skills and maximizing her stats, to the point that she is so far beyond anyone else in her universe that she should be able to single-handedly eradicate the Demon King if he happens to show up.
Best Isekai Villainess Anime That Will Make You Root for the ‘Bad’ Girl
Not all isekai protagonists get to be reincarnated as heroines, as some find themselves as a villainess who is destined to be doomed in the very end.
Admittedly, comparing characters from different anime universes is inherently flawed since they adhere to different rules. Still, I find it a bit difficult to imagine anime Sung presenting Yumiella with much of a challenge; after all, she creates a black hole just to show off. Yumiella also has plenty of ranged options that could overwhelm Sung from a distance, so she would be able to avoid a close-quarters battle. That said, her strength and speed stats are also maxed out, so it is not like she struggles with hand-to-hand combat. Yumiella is also accustomed to taking on groups of enemies at a time, as she would summon dozens of monsters to her as part of her training.

Now, this would possibly be the most interesting fight, just because both Rimuru and Sung are versatile and have fascinating abilities that enable them to adapt to most situations. They are also both intelligent and rely on their analytical skills to deal with encounters, even if they can power through most enemies without much issue.
Sung is growing at an exponential rate that will allow him to eventually compare favorably to everyone's favorite slime, but anime Rimuru is simply further ahead in his development. His ultimate skills are particularly incredible. Raphael is basically a cheat code that guides Rimuru to ensure he makes the wisest decisions. Meanwhile, Beelzebub allows Rimuru to absorb enemies and mimic their skills (and their appearances).
Depending on which versions collide, the fight would likely end with either Sung being absorbed by Rimuru or the latter becoming the former's shadow. Either way, the fight should be captivating!

This match-up is probably the hardest to explore, just due to One-Punch Man's premise. Saitama is designed to not only beat but straight-up annihilate any enemy with one hit. He is a subversion of overpowered protagonists, and stripping away this aspect would take away a key attribute that defines him. Sure, many action anime heroes never lose, but Saitama's unbeatable nature is part of his characterization. He wins. That is Saitama.
Honestly, Sung's shadow army should present Saitama with a good challenge as they could try to overwhelm him through sheer numbers. However, at least in his current anime form, Sung's efforts would mostly just force Saitama to take the fight somewhat seriously, and the hero for fun would eventually defeat his entire army with a single punch.

Oh, boy, time to eradicate a few universes. Bleach has multiple characters that could theoretically defeat Solo Leveling Season 2 Sung. Aizen and Ichigo would get the job done without too many issues, although the latter might be caught off guard since he has a habit of losing first encounters. However, currently in the anime, Yhwach is by far the strongest Bleach character, and his Almighty ability is so overpowered that it feels broken.
To avoid going into its more complicated elements, the Almighty essentially allows Yhwach to examine multiple parallel universes and pick the one that gets him the result he wants. He can also erase universes that do not go his way, removing any chance of failure. If an enemy tries to attack him, Yhwach will pick a timeline where that attempt fails, and that becomes the true reality.
Just to be clear, Yhwach is powerful even without the Almighty, but this ability is the only one that needs to be mentioned.

Even if we were to ignore the stated criteria and permit Ragnarok Sung to step onto the battlefield, he would still die instantly against Yogiri. Simply put, almost no entity in fiction stands a chance against My Instant Death Ability's protagonist, a character specifically created to squash overpowered archetypes. Yogiri is not fast, strong, or even all that intelligent; however, he does not need to be.
Yogiri's ability allows him to kill anyone with a single thought. He does not need to be near them or even make a conscious decision to kill them; seriously, he eliminates a powerful dark god by accident in the anime. If that was not absurd enough, this power is not limited to living beings, as it can even kill concepts, supernatural beings, and non-living things. No matter a target's state, strength, immortality, or immunity, they are all helpless against Yogiri. He even has a subconscious defense mechanism that instantly kills any threat.
Best Anime With Overpowered Main Characters, Ranked
Super powerful protagonists capable of anything might feel redundant in an anime plot, but these series are fun to watch despite an OP MC.
