According to the production committee for Solo Leveling, the goal isn't to produce a third season, but to do a big movie instead. It just be noted and emphasized that the movie hasn't begun production yet, which means that it can't have an official release date, but the window is set for late 2026, at least for the time being.

The goal with a Solo Leveling movie is simple, and it is to replicate the success that Demon Slayer found with its own blockbuster movies, Infinity Castle Part 1. Solo Leveling will probably not match Demon Slayer's numbers, but it will most likely do incredibly well.

The next Solo Leveling movie will cover the vast majority of what remains, and that only means one thing: Solo Leveling Season 3 might not happen at all. It is highly likely that the upcoming Solo Leveling movie will be a big success, and in that case, there could be plans for a final Solo Leveling movie which would then wrap up the story for good, just like Demon Slayer is doing with Infinity Castle.

The moment Demon Slayer found monumental success with Infinity Castle Part 1, the anime world changed forever. More studios will now try to emulate that success with a big movie release, and A-1 Pictures is no different. Solo Leveling and many other series will follow suit and try to profit off of this strategy, and it will more than likely work, which means anime season adaptations could be threatened in the long run, which is a shame.
