This article contains spoilers for the Solo Leveling Manhwa.
Solo Leveling is incredibly popular at the moment, and much of that comes from fans getting to witness Sung Jinwoo’s strength grow. In Season 1 of Solo Leveling, he gained the power to level up and started gaining immeasurable strength. Then, in Season 2, he raised powerful shadows and leveled up exponentially, defeating the strongest enemies seen, including a threat that was able to kill multiple S-Rank hunters, the Ant King.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Officially Reveal A Character That Can Beat Even Sung Jinwoo
Jinwoo is strong, but not stronger than this character from Solo Leveling season 3.
Jinwoo is, however, still far from his peak. Solo Leveling season 3 will see him receive his biggest power-up yet and become the True Shadow Monarch, and that is all achieved thanks to Ashborn, the original Shadow Monarch and one of Solo Leveling’s most powerful characters. He'll give Jinwoo his black heart, one of the greatest power-ups Jinwoo will ever get.
Jinwoo Will Become Stronger Than Ever With His New Transformation
- The True Shadow Monarch
- A Transformation Thanks To Ashborn
Anime-only fans still have no idea who Ashborn is, as he has yet to make an appearance in the anime. However, he will be very relevant in one of Solo Leveling’s upcoming arcs, the Double Dungeon arc, which will be one of the biggest events covered in Solo Leveling Season 3.
After reaching level 100, Jinwoo is invited back into the Double Dungeon. But little does he know, it was a trap by Kandiaru, the architect. Jinwoo was supposed to be the vessel for Ashborn, the Shadow Monarch, but Kandiaru underestimated him. Unbeknownst to him, Ashborn had changed his mind and didn’t want to take over Jinwoo’s body anymore.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Gets A Sad Update, But 2026's Best Anime Has Officially Been Confirmed
Solo Leveling season 3 is not coming, but this other, major anime is returning in 2026.
Instead, he gave Jinwoo his powers, and Jinwoo became his successor, known to be the true Shadow Monarch. Jinwoo was given the Black Heart. This Black Heart gave Jinwoo a huge boost, both in mana and regeneration. If Jinwoo was one of the strongest before the Black Heart, after it, he is on a whole other level, and on his way to becoming Solo Leveling’s strongest.
“I am the record of your bitter struggle. I am the evidence of your resistance. I am the reward of your pain. I am death, I am eternal rest, and I am also terror. I am you.” — Ashborn to Sung Jinwoo
Will Solo Leveling Season 3 Jinwoo Be The Strongest Character?
Antares Is Still Above Him
Solo Leveling Season 3 could end with Jinwoo becoming one of the strongest characters, but if there’s one character he will still have to surpass, it’s Antares, Solo Leveling’s final antagonist. Antares is the Monarch of Destruction, and the oldest one at that. Jinwoo will eventually surpass Antares, but not in Season 3. Fans will have to wait longer to see that, and it'll likely come in Solo Leveling’s final season, whenever that will be released.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Reveal Sung Jinwoo's New Strongest Ability
Jinwoo is strong, but his next power-up in Solo Leveling season 3 will put him on a whole other level.
When Will Solo Leveling Season 3 Release?
No Release Date Yet
Solo Leveling fans can’t wait for Season 3. Sadly, for now, Solo Leveling season 3 hasn't even been officially announced. This is unfortunate, and it means there is no release window yet. Based on the recent developments, there probably won't be one in the near future either. The chances of Solo Leveling Season 3 dropping in 2026 are decreasing by the day.
“While thrilled with the response, I personally don't feel like the series is known by everyone at this point. Solo Leveling isn't as universally recognized in Japan yet. As a Japanese person living in Japan, the anime is not at the level of Dragon Ball, One Piece, or Naruto. But if season three happens, that’s when I want to truly break that boundary.” - Atsushi Kaneko
Solo Leveling has two seasons out right now, one with 12 episodes, and the other with 13, for a combined episode count of 25 episodes available to watch right now. The series can be streamed on Crunchyroll for fans to enjoy while awaiting any more news concerning the third season. For fans who can’t wait for season 3 to come out, checking out the Manhwa might be a great option.
