Solo Leveling is an action-packed anime adapted from a famous manhwa webtoon. As with most adaptations, the anime makes some choices that might diverge from the source material, and that can end up with some moments being cut out, for the better or the worse. Sadly, for fans who like Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In, a cute moment of theirs was removed from the anime adaptation during the finale.

Solo Leveling Anime Removes Small Scene Between Jinwoo and Cha-Hae

Happened in Webtoon Chapter 108 and Should Have Been In Season Finale

Solo Leveling is a pretty intense anime that usually takes viewers from one fight to the next, with each fight getting progressively better. The anime did an amazing job carrying the series from the webtoon form to anime, and this has definitely contributed to its popularity.

However, the Solo Leveling series is quite short in general. The series won’t have more than 4 seasons, unless anime-only content is somehow added. Sadly, this is a massive reason why many fans hate the fact that the anime cuts out scenes from the manhwa. It happens more often than some fans might think, and the last episode of Season 2 was especially laden with such moments.

A very popular ship in Solo Leveling is that of Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In. Both characters are very well-liked and quite powerful, as they’re both S-Rank Hunters. Fans of the Manhwa know their relationship only gets more interesting from Season 2 onwards as they get to know each other more.

In Solo Leveling Season 2, their relationship builds a lot more, but the anime removed a small scene between them that shows Cha Hae-In’s crush on Jinwoo.

In chapter 108 of the manhwa, which was adapted in episode 25 of the anime and served as the finale, the Hunters attend the funeral post-Jeju Island. Of course, both Cha Hae-In and Sung Jinwoo are present there. During the funeral, Cha Hae-In spots Jinwoo and looks away blushing. Jin-woo isn’t good at picking up signs, so he is confused about what's wrong with her. This cute little moment was removed from the anime for no reason, which is definitely unfortunate for fans of the ship and fans who want the anime to be as faithful to the source material as possible.

Either way, these two characters will still get a lot of moments together in Solo Leveling Season 3 and onwards, so fans shouldn’t be worried. Hopefully, fewer scenes will be removed in the future.

“The way he was acting in the dungeon… the fact that Guildmaster Choi wanted him looked into… the Association’s involvement… Something’s going on here. I’ve met so many Hunters but… he’s the first one who smelled good.” - Cha Hae-In

What Other Big Moments Were Removed from the Anime?

The Anime Cut Out Jinwoo Extracting a Powerful Shadow

While there are many scenes that were removed from the anime for one reason or the other, one of the biggest changes the anime did from the Manhwa was the decision to remove Sung Jinwoo extracting another general-level shadow. That shadow is none other than the Ant Queen. In the Manhwa, after extracting Beru, the Ant King, he went on to extract the Ant Queen as well. However, due to the fact that his authority clashed with hers and that she couldn’t reproduce as a shadow, he decided to let her go. But she was General level, just like Beru, the highest rank seen so far.

It’s definitely a bummer that it was removed and would have made for a great scene and given fans a better idea of Jinwoo’s powers.

Where To Watch Solo Leveling?

Available on Crunchyroll

Solo Leveling’s popularity has only been rising with every new season. Season 2 was even bigger than the first, especially thanks to how intense the Jeju Island arc was and the threat of the Ant King. The first Season has 12 episodes, and the second season has 15, with an overall 25-episode count, which is not much. Still, Solo Leveling is quite the experience. Anyone interested in the series can find it available with all its episodes on Crunchyroll.

And when it comes to Solo Leveling Season 3, it isn’t going to be coming anytime soon, sadly. No great news has been revealed about it, and it seems it won’t be releasing in early 2026, if rumors are to be believed. This wait is definitely going to be longer than what fans had to experience between Season 1 and Season 2. Fans will just have to be patient and wait for the incredible content that’s to come.
