This article contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.

Solo Leveling season 2 is still actively talked about in the anime community, even though the anime ended a couple of months ago. Solo Leveling’s popularity is continually growing, so much so that it even won Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Awards. Despite all of that, another older anime series has beaten it when it comes to the best-rated episode of the year.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Was Phenomenal

A Short Season, But Very Impactful

Sung Jinwoo stares at the Ant King - Solo Leveling

Solo Leveling became an instant hit with the release of its first anime season, back in 2024. While the first season was huge, Solo Leveling Season 2 was even bigger.

Season 2 of Solo Leveling came out this year and ran for 13 episodes in total. The entire season was incredible and featured a lot of intense moments. Given that the season covered the events of the Jeju Island arc, fans got to witness some of the most memorable episodes this season.

The Jeju Island arc is, so far, the most popular arc of the series. The high stakes and the high-octane action made it stand out, and Sung Jinwoo’s performance was the perfect icing on the cake.

With the second season of Solo Leveling wrapping up a couple of months ago, fans are mostly waiting for the third season - and no one knows when it will come out. There is no update on what year to expect it in, and while it is certainly annoying, fans are going to have to be patient.

“Despite being the animation producer for Solo Leveling, I instead talked about Dragon Ball there. My favorite technique by Son Goku is the Spirit Bomb. Spirit Bomb, the technique that combines everyone's power to defeat the enemy. So, for the next season of Solo Leveling to come to fruition, we need everyone's power and support for the series across the world.” — Atsushi Kaneko

Solo Leveling Season 2’s Best Episode Has Been Surpassed

With Season 2 of Solo Leveling being the massive success that it was, it’s unsurprising to know that many of the episodes from this season are very highly rated.

The most highly rated episode of this season is actually episode 12, “Are You the King of Humans” with a score of 9.7. This episode saw Sung Jinwoo take on the Ant King, and it showcased some amazing animation and direction.

This episode has already been surpassed, however, and it was done by none other than One Piece. One Piece Episode 1136, “Kuma’s Life,” has beaten Solo Leveling, scoring 9.8.
