Why exactly did this Manhwa adaptation blow up the way it has? Solo Leveling's popularity lies in its simplicity and its execution.

Solo Leveling Becomes the Most Watched Anime on Crunchyroll

Sony recently announced that Solo Leveling is currently the most-watched anime of all time on Crunchyroll. This means that in two years, the series has surpassed even longtime hits like One Piece. Since One Piece resumed airing a few months ago, it may only be a matter of time before it reclaims the top spot, but it is still amazing that Solo Leveling managed to surpass it in such a short time.

Since it took a while until Sony confirmed this information, the news also suggests that people are still watching the series after Season 2 concluded. Typically, once a series finishes broadcasting, the daily viewership tends to drop sharply within weeks, so it's especially impressive if Solo Leveling has continued to attract a massive number of new viewers despite no new episodes airing.

What About Solo Leveling Season 3?

As mentioned earlier, Solo Leveling Season 3 hasn't yet been officially announced, but many producers and Crunchyroll executives have hinted that plans are already in motion. One producer even suggested that the next season might not be released until 2028, which made fans speculate if there will be a movie in the meantime. It's clear that they are listening to the feedback, so it's likely only a matter of time before it is confirmed.

We just concluded Season 2, which did really well for us, so I’m sure there will be more content in future. We’re not sure exactly when, but it will be here and fans will continue to see the story.

According to the producers, it may take months to complete a single episode—which could mean that they had finished the episodes before they aired this year. So, from this perspective, waiting a few years for the next season might actually be a great sign, because it would suggest that the team is working hard to deliver animation of the highest possible quality.

Solo Leveling is available to stream on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed in English and other languages.
