When Will Chapters 48 and 49 Be Released in English?
- Tapas might drop new chapters on August 9 (Saturday), but this is yet to be confirmed.
- Other factors could affect the release date.
Tapas was up-to-date with the previous chapters, which could mean that the service will drop the two new chapters this week. Solo Leveling: Ragnarok gets new chapters on the platform on Saturdays, so some fans expect them to drop on August 9.
However, there could be other factors affecting the release of these chapters. So far, Tapas hasn't confirmed that Chapters 48 and 49 are dropping this week, and the series is still described as "on hiatus" on the platform. Therefore, fans will have to wait for more concrete information.
What Are the Differences Between the SL Ragnarok Novel and Manhwa?
The Solo Leveling: Ragnarok webcomic is not exactly an adaptation of the novel. While the webtoon keeps the main plot lines, the authors have significantly changed many events in the story, and they have even added a new class, irregular, which is now Suho's class. As they keep some key events, it seems like they align a few things with Daul. There's even a possibility that the abrupt ending of the novel could be related to plans regarding the manhwa, but that seems unlikely for now.
Some of the major changes in the manhwa include Tiel, a major antagonist that doesn't even exist in the novel, and the mentioned existence of the "irregular" class. Furthermore, there are parts of the novel that weren't adapted into the manhwa. The Solo Leveling manhwa also skipped or rushed many parts when compared to the original novel, but it mostly tried to adapt the plot without diverging as much as the Ragnarok manhwa does. It even seems like the Ragnarok manhwa is a completely different story and not an adaptation of the novel, and up to this point, there seems to be no official explanation for such major differences, even though this could be part of a major plot twist in the future.
Solo Leveling is available to stream on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed in English and other languages.
