Solo Leveling, an animated series based on a Korean manhwa of the same name, has become a global sensation as of late. Solo Leveling was once big in South Korea, but now, it's arguably the most popular new anime. In fact, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that Solo Leveling is one of the most popular anime series of the 2020s, so far.
Solo Leveling’s last anime content came to a conclusion earlier in 2025 with its second season. Since then, the series has received a new video game, but that’s about it. Fans are craving more content for the series, and that especially holds true for the fans living in South Korea. In Korea, Solo Leveling is being taken to new heights as it's been officially announced that Solo Leveling will get a new musical on ice, named Solo Leveling on Ice. This event is coming in December of this year. Many fans are excited, while others are skeptical.
Solo Leveling Is Being Turned into A Musical On Ice
Solo Leveling has experienced unprecedented levels of fame after the success of its second anime season, which aired earlier this year. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for new content. However, content aside, even news of a continuation has been scarce.
On the bright side, now, there is one upcoming Solo Leveling show that some fans could possibly look forward to. This new project is known as Solo Leveling on Ice, and it’s a musical reinterpretation of the Solo Leveling series by ice skaters.

This show will even feature some notable people. For example, Chae-yeon Kim has been cast to play the role of Jinwoo’s younger sister, Jinah. Chae-yeon Kim is a member of a K-pop idol group known as Triple S.
Of course, musicals and ice shows aren’t everyone’s thing, but it would still be an incredible experience for many fans of the series.
Solo Leveling on Ice Is Releasing In December 2025
Solo Leveling on Ice is coming soon, but it definitely won’t be accessible to the vast majority of Solo Leveling fans. This event is about to take place in South Korea, specifically, in Seoul, in the Mokdong Ice Rink. For now, it doesn’t seem that Solo Leveling on Ice is going to go international, and that’s definitely unfortunate for global fans.

This event will also only take place for a couple of days in December. Indeed, fans can catch the show Solo Leveling on Ice between December 24 to December 31, 2025. Solo Leveling on Ice is taking place during the peak winter holidays, so tickets will probably sell out very fast.
What's Next For The Solo Leveling Franchise?
Solo Leveling on Ice is definitely an incredible event to attend for anyone who can, but the majority of fans won’t be able to watch it. What most fans are looking forward to now is new animated content for the series. At the moment, Solo Leveling Season 3 has not been announced, and it doesn't seem like it will be anytime soon. This is especially true as recent production reports suggest that Solo Leveling will focus on a new movie. This new movie is expected to drop anywhere between late 2026 to 2027.
Animated content aside, fans also have a major new Solo Leveling video game to look forward to, called Solo Leveling Karma. Solo Leveling: Karma will be absolutely massive as it will add much-needed lore to the series by covering events never fully explored before in the Manhwa. Solo Leveling Karma is set for a 2026 release.

Solo Leveling has two seasons out right now, one with 12 episodes, and the other with 13, for a combined episode count of 25 episodes available to watch right now. The series can be streamed on Crunchyroll for fans to enjoy while awaiting any more news concerning the third season. For fans who can’t wait for season 3 to come out, checking out the Manhwa might be a great option.
