Solo Leveling experienced a historical year in 2025 at the Crunchyroll Awards, where the series managed to sweep various awards and went on to be crowned the Anime of the Year. Now, the Crunchyroll Awards for 2926 are fast approaching, and it could be a massive month for fans of the franchise. With Solo Leveling having received a second season in 2025, the series is officially eligible for the Crunchyroll Awards, and fans are hyped to see their favorite series do massive numbers once again.

Solo Leveling could win big at the 2026 Crunchyroll Awards, and fans can facilitate its victory with their votes. May 2026, in that sense, could be massive for the franchise and showcase to the studio just how popular the series still is overseas.

The 2025 Crunchyroll Awards Were Huge for Solo Leveling

Solo Leveling Made History At The Crunchyroll Awards In 2025

The 2025 Crunchyroll Awards were absolutely massive for the Solo Leveling franchise as the series went home with some of the biggest awards. Given that Solo Leveling Season 1 aired in 2024, the series was eligible to compete for some big accolades at The Crunchyroll Awards 2025. Despite being a rather new series, Solo Leveling won big.

At the 2025 Crunchyroll Awards, Solo Leveling won the most prestigious title a series could possibly obtain, and that is the title of Anime of the Year. Solo Leveling won this title despite the tough competition from the likes of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 1, The Apothecary Diaries Season 1, and Dandadan Season 1, among many other hit anime, all of which deserve to win in their own right. While winning the Anime of the Year award was massive enough in itself, things didn't stop there.

Solo Leveling won the most awards by far at the event, and this made it a historic night for the franchise. The series went on to win the award for Best Main Character for its protagonist, Sung Jinwoo. Again, Solo Leveling did not win this title for lack of competition when the likes of Frieren and Maomao were also nominated and we're quite popular among the anime community. Solo Leveling also went on to win the following awards:

  • Best New Series
  • Best action
  • Best Score
  • Best Ending Sequence
  • Best Voice Artist Performance (Brazilian Portuguese)
  • Best Voice Artist Performance (Castilian Spanish)
  • Best Voice Artist Performance (English)

The 2026 Crunchyroll Awards Are Coming On May 23

Solo Leveling Season 2 Is Eligible To Compete

The 2026 Crunchyroll Awards Are Coming On May 23
  • Solo Leveling could make history at The Crunchyroll Awards
  • Solo Leveling could win many other awards as well

As many fans might already have heard, the Crunchyroll Awards for 2026 are coming at a rapid pace, and all fans of the series are eagerly waiting to see which series comes out on top this time. The Crunchyroll Awards 2026 have been scheduled for May 23, 2026, and this day could be massive for Solo Leveling. Of course, while the award ceremony itself will take place in May, the nominees will be revealed a lot earlier, and voting will instead be opened from April 2nd all the way to April 15. At the moment, fans don't know what categories the series will be nominated for, but it’s eligible, at the very least. After its major success last year, it is likely that Solo Leveling will be nominated in many categories by Crunchyroll, and this will, of course, include the category of Anime of the Year.

It goes without saying that Solo Leveling Season 2 is a serious contender that could go on to win the title Anime of the Year two times in a row. If this were to happen, Solo Leveling would become the first anime to achieve such a tremendous feat, making history along the way. The only other anime that was able to win the title of Anime of the Year twice was Jujutsu Kaisen, but even then, it did not achieve that back-to-back, something that Solo Leveling can actually pull off.

Solo Leveling could also go on to win many other big awards, just as it did in 2025, which includes titles like Best Main Character, as well as Best Action, among many other categories. Fans have big hopes for their beloved series this year as it completes with an arguably better season this time around. Of course, Solo Leveling can't win without the fans' support, so fans of the series definitely mark their calendars and vote for their favorite series when voting opens.

For Solo Leveling, victory would mean a lot as it could affect the fate of what comes next. Last year, when Solo Leveling won big, the studio definitely took note, and the producers could tell just how popular Solo Leveling was overseas. Solo Leveling winning again could showcase that once more and give the series more hope of being renewed for a third season, or maybe even for a theatrical release.

Solo Leveling Faces Huge Competition From My Hero Academia

Victory Isn't Guaranteed For Jinwoo This Time Around

Solo Leveling Season 2 has a huge shot at winning many awards this year. But, unlike in 2025, its odds seem a lot slimmer for a few reasons. Last year, when the Crunchyroll Awards were airing, Solo Leveling was airing its second season, which definitely led to a lot of recency bias, leading fans to vote for it and giving it a huge advantage. In comparison, its contenders, such as Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, had ended airing over a year ago and were not as fresh in fans' minds. In 2026, however, Solo Leveling has no such advantage, with its third season being nowhere near.

Along with that, the competition in 2026 might be a lot tougher. As fans know, one of the greatest shonen series of the last few years made a huge impression in 2025, that being My Hero Academia's final season. MHA’s Season 8 was a major hit, featuring some of the highest-rated anime episodes of 2025, even more so than Solo Leveling. My Hero Academia could go on to steal Solo Leveling’s title as Anime of the year, but it could also do more than that.

Deku could go on to win the Best Main Character of 2026, and the award for Best Action could also be taken home by My Hero Academia, thanks to its incredible battles that were brought to life by Studio Bones. Arguably, Izuku Midoriya vs Shigaraki was even bigger than Solo Leveling’s biggest 2025 fight — Jinwoo vs the Ant King.

My Hero Academia season 8 being the franchise’s last season definitely gives it a huge advantage as well. Fans want to give the series a proper farewell, and allowing it to win such big titles would be a great send-off for a brilliant anime series. Beyond MHA Season 8, Solo Leveling also faces tough competition from series like The Apothecary Diaries, Takopi’s Original Sin, and many others.
