Summary

  • Solo Leveling surpasses One Piece on Crunchyroll, with more reviews and higher ratings.
  • Season 2 has been a massive hit, leading fans to anticipate Season 3.
  • While Season 3 has not been officially confirmed, the series' popularity makes it likely to happen.

Solo Leveling has definitely become one of those rare shows that achieves such a high level of popularity that it keeps trending even when it is not dropping new content for a while. Proof of this is that Solo Leveling is now more popular than One Piece on Crunchyroll.

Recently, the producer of the series also gave an interview revealing more about the production — Jinwoo VS. Beeru has twice as many frames as an average episode of the series, and it took months to complete. No wonder people love it so much.

Solo Leveling: Should You Read The Manhwa Or The Novel?

Which is better, the manwa or the novel?

Even though we are still in May, it's hard to imagine any other anime series beating Solo Leveling as the anime of the year. Season 2 has been such a hit that the series has surpassed O ne Piece as the most reviewed anime on Crunchyroll.

While there are 648,000 reviews for One Piece, fans have written 775,000 reviews for Solo Leveling. The series also has a rating of 4.9, while One Piece has a rating of 4.8. What's really impressive about this is that Solo Leveling is still getting a lot of reviews a month after Season 2 ended, and the difference between One Piece and Solo Leveling was smaller before April — which means that many people probably started watching the series after it finished airing.

Of course, as One Piece is now airing new episodes, it may eventually catch up and surpass Solo Leveling in the number of reviews. Also, there are probably people who will review One Piece after the anime is finished (some years in the future).

Is Solo Leveling Season 3 Confirmed?

While there have been many rumors that Solo Leveling Season 3 has been greenlit (and may take longer to come out), it has not been officially confirmed that it is in production. Given how big the series has become, it seems very likely that it will eventually be announced.

Do you know Dragon Ball's Genki-dama (Spirit Bomb)? We need your energy! If we’re going to make a Season 3, it’s going to take all the support and energy from the fans. I learned that from Akira Toriyama himself! May the great Akira Toriyama rest in Peace.

The production committee may still be discussing the best way to approach a sequel to the series — if Season 3 follows a similar pacing to the previous ones, it may very well be the final season, so the producers may even be discussing whether it would be better to approach it in a different way, or even adapt the remaining arcs in another format (like movies or a season and a movie).

Even though there is no official word yet, Solo Leveling fans can rest assured that it seems very unlikely that this series will be canceled, so they just have to wait for the official announcement.

Solo Leveling is available to stream on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed in many languages.
