This article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling and My Hero Academia series.
Solo Leveling was first released at the beginning of 2024, and fans were treated to an absolutely stunning anime series that, although it follows a quite simple plot, was incredibly enjoyable. The show was so popular that Solo Leveling Season 2 was announced not too long after the conclusion of the first season and dropped in Winter 2025. Solo Leveling Season 2 was an upgrade on the first season, delivering even higher quality, both in terms of action and overall story. Solo Leveling was extremely dominant in the anime market, with its episodes being incredibly close to a perfect 10 on many occasions. Solo Leveling Season 2’s best episode managed to secure a rating of 9.6 on IMDb, and overall, that certainly is incredibly impressive.
Japan Already Has A New 2025 Anime Better Than Solo Leveling
Solo Leveling is big overseas, but in Japan, this underrated series was crowned number 1 in 2025.
For a series as scrutinized as Solo Leveling to secure such a high rating means that the episode blew away fans and haters alike. However, now, as 2025 progresses, newer and better anime episodes are dropping, and one of the most recent ones seems to have left Solo Leveling's best episode in the dust. My Hero Academia Season 8, which is also the final season of the show, is airing currently, and its third episode, which specifically focused on the battle between Bakugo and All For One, has dethroned Solo Leveling Season 2’s best episode and for good.
My Hero Academia Season 8 Episode 3 Dethrones Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 12
My Hero Academia Season 8 Episode 3 Is A Masterpiece
- Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 12 Is Rated 9.6 on IMDb
- My Hero Academia Season 8 Episode 3 Is Rated 9.7 on IMDb
Solo Leveling Season 2 was an absolute joy for the fans to watch. The season spanned over 13 episodes, and the best episode that the fans got to see in Solo Leveling Season 2 was episode 12, titled “Are You the King of Humans?” This episode marked the conclusion of the incredible battle between Sung Jinwoo and the Ant King in the beloved Jeju Island arc, and fans were utterly blown away by the level of animation that it showcased.
“While thrilled with the response, I personally don't feel like the series is known by everyone at this point. Solo Leveling isn't as universally recognized in Japan yet. As a Japanese person living in Japan, the anime is not at the level of Dragon Ball, One Piece, or Naruto. But if season three happens, that’s when I want to truly break that boundary.” - Atsushi Kaneko

My Hero Academia Has Officially Confirmed The Biggest Couple In The Series
The biggest couple in MHA has been confirmed, and it has caused a lot of controversy.
Now, My Hero Academia has officially dethroned this episode of Solo Leveling. My Hero Academia Season 8 Episode 3, which specifically focused on the incredible battle between Bakugo and All For One, has received tremendous love from the fans of the series. The episode was directed incredibly well and brought in an incredible staff that delivered an episode that's hard to match in terms of quality. With an IMDb rating of 9.7, My Hero Academia Season 8 Episode 3 has officially dethroned Solo Leveling's best episode, and things will only get better from here on.

My Hero Academia Season 8's Best Is Yet To Come
More Action In Store For The Fans Of MHA
While My Hero Academia Season 8 Episode 3 already secured a very high rating, the fact is that more incredible content is on the way. The best of MHA's final season is yet to come, and fans will have to wait to see what the anime staff has in store for them next. So far, MHA Season 8 has not put a single foot wrong when it comes to quality, and if anything, it has only managed to elevate Horikoshi's manga to even higher levels. Hopefully, that continues, as Deku's battle against Shigaraki Tomura edges closer. Given that it's the biggest fight in the entire series, fans are curious to know what rating it will secure later down the line. At the moment, fans can simply sit back and enjoy the show as My Hero Academia edges closer to its big farewell.
“I think more than anyone, I am anxiously awaiting a Season 3! But in truth, between Season 1 and Season 2, 220,000 frames of animation were created. So, if it were up to me, I’d say let’s wait until the next Olympics (2028) to see what’s going to happen with a Season 3. But I think that’s more up to Kaneko and A-1 Pictures.” — Atsushi Kaneko
Solo Leveling has two seasons out right now, one with 12 episodes, and the other with 13, for a combined episode count of 25 episodes available to watch right now. The series can be streamed on Crunchyroll for fans to enjoy while awaiting any more news concerning the third season. For fans who can’t wait for season 3 to come out, checking out the Manhwa might be a great option.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the "One-For-All" quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
