Solo Leveling: Arise has players juggling all sorts of upgrade materials to use on Sung Jinwoo and the various Hunters. Gold is at the center of most upgrade mechanics and will need to be used alongside the upgrade materials to actually upgrade something.
Despite Gold being obtained in many different ways, players will still often find themselves needing more. Taking the time to farm more Gold is always an option, but there are some things players should be on the lookout for and not spend their Gold on.
Solo Leveling: Arise - How To Increase Power
Power is the strength of Sung Jinwoo and the three Hunters currently in your team in Solo Leveling: Arise. Here's how to increase your overall Power.
6 Needless Crafting
Gold Wasted On A Shortcut To Crafting Materials
- Crafting uses Gold to allow an upgrade that then costs more Gold.
- These items can be obtained for free while earning Gold.
All resources in Solo Leveling: Arise are limited and trading one limited resource for another isn't always the best decision. Crafting upgrade materials specifically uses a decent amount of Gold to give players more advanced upgrade materials that can also be obtained in other free methods.
Rushing high-level and expensive upgrades early in the game will often end up being a waste, and spending gold just to get the upgrade materials to do so will become a quick money sink.
5 Resetting Sung Jinwoo More Than Once
Pick One Build & Stick To It
- Some stats aren't worth upgrading in the first place.
- Reset once to get on the path of the best build.
Resetting Sung Jinwoo can be done anytime but will cost Gold based on his level. While resetting early into the game won't be as devastating, resetting around level 40 or beyond will cost quite a lot of Gold.
Solo Leveling: Arise - What Time Is The Daily Reset (& What Gets Reset)
Solo Leveling: Arise has a daily reset that gives players more to do without having to pay for refreshes. Here's what time the daily reset happens.
Where multiple stats may seem useful, there is only one build players should pursue in Solo Leveling: Arise. Sticking to one build won't require the high cost of resetting and using your gold to test other skills.
4 Upgrading Too Many Skills
Only Upgrade The Skills You Use
- Only two skills can be equipped.
- A better ultimate skill will be unlocked once Sung becomes The Monarch Of Shadows.
Sung Jinwoo has access to multiple skills to choose from aside from those attached to his weapon of choice. Despite having so many options, he can only have two skills equipped along with a third that is designated to just his Ultimate ability.
Players should pick their two favorite skills and stick to them. Dispersing Gold and upgrading multiple skills won't do Sung much good if they aren't equipped. While leveling up an unequipped skill will slightly increase his Power, the increase is minuscule compared to other upgrades and won't offer any actual change to his combat abilities in a dungeon.
3 Upgrading Most SR Hunters
Wait & Upgrade Better Hunters
- Draw tickets are common rewards that lead to SSR Hunters.
- Use Support Hunters early on as they continue to have some use at higher levels.
While SR Hunters are the most common type to find, the game offers many ways of obtaining SSR Hunters. Even free-to-play accounts will start drawing SSR Hunters in about a week's worth of gameplay. The base stats of SSR Hunters will far outclass that of even upgraded SR Hunters.
Solo Leveling: Arise - How To Get Draw Tickets
Drawing is how players will get new weapons and Hunters in Solo Leveling: Arise. Here is how to get both kinds of Draw Tickets for free.
Players will need to upgrade a few SR Hunters at the start of the game to get further in the story and unlock additional game modes. Powering up any more than those initial three and a possible support Hunter isn't necessary, as players should save their Gold and upgrade materials for the better Hunters soon to come.
2 Upgrading R Weapons
Better To Be Traces Of Dimensions
- R-tier weapons have terrible stats despite obtaining so many.
- All R-tier weapons should be salvaged immediately for more useful trading materials.
R-tier weapons are easy to come by and Advance. Even though they can be easily upgraded, SR weapons are fairly common in Draws and will outrank upgraded R weapons with their stats and bonus effects.
R-tier weapons are best for salvaging materials to spend in the shop. SSR weapons can sometimes be harder to come by than SSR Hunters, but that still should have players focusing on and upgrading their SR weapons and never R weapons. Players will need to salvage a lot of weapons to upgrade the better ones in Solo Leveling: Arise, and R-tier weapons are perfect to become upgrade materials.
1 Enhancing Weak Artifacts
Limit Enhancement To One Or Two Ranks At A Time
- Artifacts do offer a huge boost in Power.
- Focus Gold on rare or high-level Artifacts.
Enhancing any Artifact works on an automated system that will continue to use the resources in an attempt to perform an upgrade. This system alone sinks a lot more Gold than players would initially plan and can even end up costing over 100,000 gold to fully enhance an Artifact.
For the first 45 levels, players will constantly be unlocking better Encore Missions that will drop better Artifacts. Higher-level artifacts have much higher stats than even fully upgraded artifacts and will often leave players feeling like they wasted gold after spending so much on subpar equipment. It's best to save any Artifact enhancement until a difficult boss is reached or the highest tier Encore Missions are unlocked to get the best Artifacts there are.
