A player of Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim shares that they were able to absorb the soul of the dragon they were fighting before they were able to kill it. Many fellow fans will likely find this player's experience funny and interesting, given that the Dragonborn can only absorb the souls of dragons in Skyrim after they have been defeated.

This 2022, Skyrim is celebrating its 11th anniversary. Despite the game already being 11 years old, the player base continues to generate content about the action RPG. To this day, many within the community have produced game-changing Skyrim mods that level up player experiences. However, other fans also seem content in discovering new ways to play through the game's story and side quests or experiencing glitches that provide entertainment for fellow community members.

Sharing a short video clip on Reddit, user WeswePengu showed that they were able to absorb a dragon's soul in Skyrim without having to defeat it. In the footage, the Redditor's character is seen fighting off one of the regular dragons found in Skyrim and slowly bringing down its health. Suddenly, without its HP bar being fully depleted, the dragon triggered the in-game animation that indicated that its soul was being absorbed by the Dragonborn. However, the dragon stayed alive, and the player had to fend off its skeleton which was still flying around them.

The Skyrim community had some questions for the Redditor regarding what they experienced in the game. A commenter asked if they were able to absorb another Skyrim dragon soul after they finally killed it, but WeswePengu shared that they only got one dragon soul. Another comment mentioned that the player had uncovered the lore behind the Skeletal Dragon which can be found in a quest from the College of Winterhold. Others just had fun with WeswePengu's experience, likely reveling in the many bugs and glitches the community has encountered in the game. One commenter even stated that there is likely a Skyrim version of Murphy's law and that if a "bug can happen, it will happen."

With WeswePengu sharing that they were able to prematurely suck out a dragon's soul in Skyrim, the rest of the community will probably be on the lookout for this glitch on their own playthrough. Given how tough it can be for players to kill dragons in Skyrim, being able to get a precious dragon soul without having to fight one off is likely a welcome experience.

The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim: Anniversary Edition is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
