After more than 11 years, it's hard to imagine that people are still playing Skyrim, but it obviously has its draws, one of which being the many examples of how the game's phsyics can cause havoc. Built using the dated Creation Engine, which some would describe as not exactly the best game engine in the world, The Elder Scrolls 5 may be a marvel of development and action role-playing, but it has been at the epicenter of much unintended hilarity pretty much since day one.

A couple of recent examples can be found on Reddit. User sil00k posted a clip from their Skyrim playthrough, in which their character can be seen in a fight against a cultist. During the battle, the enemy unleashes a powerful attack on the Dragonborn, which sends them spinning and flying all around the dungeon. One person in the comments says they were once unexpectedly "yeeted by a Death Lord." A thread from user EmotionalPressure625 shows a similar example of the Creation Engine doing what it does best. In their case, they use Paralysis on a Dawnguard and, despite it turning the antagonist's body stiff, it also sends them hurtling down the hill in a comedic fashion.

There are countless amusing glitches that occur in Skyrim, some of which are at least harmless, though there are a few that can be detrimental to the gameplay and overall experience. It is quite surprising that, so many remain despite how long the game's been out, not to mention the number of times Bethesda has re-released it on newer systems. However, it's examples like these recent ones that are responsible for TES5 still being popular after all these years.

For an RPG that has an incredibly immersive open world, Skyrim can just as easily break its otherwise enchanting qualities. It's become a joke among the community, but it least brings a little joy to fans. It will be interesting to see whether The Elder Scrolls 6 or Starfield enjoy such legacies.
