A Skyrim player has shown off a video where they get interrupted by an NPC at the completely wrong time. Most who have played Skyrim enough will have a similar experience of NPCs acting in plenty of strange ways.

Over the twelve years since Skyrim's release, players have discovered practically every interaction the game has to offer. Despite this, there are still ways that gamers continue to make the experience fresh again, with the modding community continuing to contribute great things. One mod even adds an AI-voiced protagonist to Skyrim, which completely changes the way interactions in the game work.

In the clip posted by Redditor Mocinion, the player is in the middle of executing a dragon when they get interrupted by a fugitive delivering an item. The execution animation continues, and the fugitive bizarrely seems to have no awareness of what's occurring in front of them, even threatening to kill the Dragonborn. Skyrim players in the thread were quick to point out the irony of the fugitive threatening the Dragonborn, who is currently in the process of single-handedly slaying a dragon. Others went on to share their own experiences with the fugitive, with one claiming that they immediately had the NPC killed for interrupting them. It's not the first time the fugitive has interrupted Skyrim players during a dragon fight, showing exactly why many players feel he's an annoyance in the game.

Skyrim's interactions are known for being particularly janky, with many glitches over the years involving broken NPCs. One recent video showcased Skyrim's courier interrupting the player while they capture a dragon, showcasing just how dedicated the courier is to their job. While these bugs are extremely common, they're not game-breaking, and they add a level of charm to Skyrim that it otherwise wouldn't have. Luckily, over the years thanks to a combination of official updates and modders, most of the genuinely problematic bugs have been removed from Skyrim, with mostly the funny ones remaining.

Hopefully Bethesda can smooth out NPC interactions in the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6. However, Bethesda games have for better or worse become renowned for their abundance of glitches, and recent releases from the company have shown no sign of changing this. With Starfield's modders already preparing to fix the game's bugs, it shows that the community is certainly expecting plenty of bugs to remain a staple of Bethesda games going forward. Players can only wait to see what state the developer's future titles release in.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
